A diocese in the Lutheran Church of Sweden is offering a guide to LGBT young people that claims that because the word “homosexuality” is not specifically mentioned in the Bible the gay lifestyle is acceptable for Christians. A “survival guide for Christian queer kids” was developed by the Västerås diocese of the Church of Sweden. The official church website welcomes readers with “Under the rainbow, you are not alone!” and notes that the guide, developed by the Västerås diocese, pins together with the broader Swedish church’s “Young Camelot's rainbow camp.” The website offers 10 points, in English and Swedish, that refer to the survival guide for young Christians experiencing same-sex attractions. The Republican governor of Maryland signed into law a ban on licensed therapists or counsellors providing minors with therapy to resolve gender confusion or unwanted homosexual attraction. Larry Hogan signed the so-called  Youth Mental Health Protection Act  into law on Tuesday. The state Senate passed the bill 34-12 in March, and the state House 95-27 in April.  “The governor was pleased to sign this bill, and believes it’s the right thing to do,” Hogan spokeswoman Amelia Chasse  told   Metro Weekly . Starting in October, it will be illegal to perform on a minor “any effort to change the behavioural expression of an individual’s sexual orientation, change gender expression , or eliminate or reduce sexual or romantic attractions or feelings toward individuals of the same gender.” Violators will be deemed to have “engaged in unprofessional conduct” and risk a suspension or revocation of their health or child care licenses. A Brazilian judge has ruled psychologists are within their rights to help patients overcome unwanted same-sex attractions . Judge Waldemar Claudio de Carvalho issued the ruling last week. He sided with Rozangela Justino, a Christian psychologist who lost her license in 2016 after working with at least one patient to overcome same-sex attractions. “To tell adults they may not receive talk therapy for a personal issue that's bothering them is a monstrous strike against freedom,” Austin Ruse , president of the Center for Family and Human Rights , told LifeSiteNews. “The Brazilian judge did exactly the right thing.” Brazilian celebrities are protesting the decision, and LGBT activists have promised to appeal. I felt a rush of unpleasant emotions as I perused articles and videos of “ LGBT ” events happening within the Catholic Church , that seemed to cross from welcoming those with same sex attraction to actually condoning the acts of homosexuality.  I felt confusion, anger and much sadness as I came across articles including one about a parish holding a  Gay Pride Mass  and another, of a parish that is having a   "gay" dance party   titled, “Moving with the Spirit”, which appears to be a major fund raiser. LONDON , February 19, 2013, ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – While pressure continues at  the international level  to prohibit psychotherapists from offering help to those wanting to overcome same-sex attraction , a Canadian therapist has told a British audience that such bans are “unethical.” A debate, billed as a discussion on the “legitimacy and freedom to offer sexual reorientation,” was held at Westminster in late January organized by Christian Concern and Core Issues Trust ahead of a debate in the House of Commons on the government’s “gay marriage” bill. Dr. Joseph Berger, a consultant psychiatrist at the Royal College of Psychiatrists in Canada, and a practitioner of “change therapy,” attended the debate and said it “absolutely horrifies” him that some professional therapy organizations in Britain are attempting to prohibit therapists from offering it. “There should be absolutely no ban on any such treatment. In fact, I consider it unethical to propose such bans,” Berger said.
