The California Court of Appeals ruled that a transgender patient can sue a Catholic hospital for refusing to perform a hysterectomy. Yesterday, the California Court of Appeals issued a truly remarkable opinion in a truly remarkable case. It held that a Catholic hospital could indeed face legal liability for failing to perform a hysterectomy as part of a female-to-male “transition” — even though its policy broadly bans sterilization surgery generally (not just for trans individuals) and even though the hospital referred the patient to a non-Catholic facility in the same network. The patient obtained the hysterectomy a mere three days after the originally scheduled surgery date and sued anyway. The facts of the case are simple . Trans people tell us reality is defined by what they identify as. Not only do they  think of themselves  as the opposite sex, but they  really are  the other sex. A group of liberal lawmakers has introduced legislation in both the House and the Senate to force the military to accept so-called transgender individuals as soldiers. Their plan is to take the issue away from President Trump, who has appropriately banned transgender individuals, and the Supreme Court, which recently ruled that the ban may go into effect while the courts examine the legal issues. People who claim to be transgender suffer from a serious medical condition – gender dysphoria – and refuse to accept the reality that they are the sex that matches their body at birth. A Canadian Human Rights Tribunal ruled that the “truth” of statements made by a Christian about a transgender political candidate’s biological sex is “not relevant” and cannot be used as a “defence” against allegations that the Christian was engaging in “hate” speech. Christian and pro-family activist Bill Whatcott was hauled before the Tribunal last year on the grounds that he had engaged in “hate” speech for publicly exposing a transgender political candidate who claimed to be female, but who was born a biological male. The complainant, Mr Ronan Oger, who now goes by Ms Morgane Oger, was a candidate in the 2017 provincial election. Oger is the Vice-President of B.C.’s New Democratic Party (NDP). The Canadian Paediatric Society (CPS) has released a new set of guidelines for discussing transgenderism with children, encouraging parents to accept and reinforce their kids’ gender confusion . “More and more, parents are asking us when and how gender identity typically develops in children, what is considered typical behaviour, and what they should expect at certain ages,” CPS president Dr Mike Dickinson  said . “ Paediatricians are well-positioned to answer these questions and help parents promote healthy gender development in their children.” He explained that the guidelines were originally conceived as a “primer for our members,” but written as “something that might be helpful to the public at large,” to direct both parents and paediatricians on how to discuss transgenderism with children. The  guidelines  tell parents it is “normal and healthy” for children as young as two to “assume other gender identities at different times (sometimes even in the same day).” “B

Mark Dice, famous for YouTube video interviews with random passers-by in public spaces, says that his Twitter account was suspended Thursday of last week after he implied that transgenderism is a mental illness. The exchange that led to Dice’s suspension began with a tweet by Dice on April 10, in which he  wrote , “58 different genders wasn't ‘inclusive’ enough for Facebook, so now instead of picking from a list of options, that section is a 'fill in the blank.'  The company is embracing mental illness on a massive scale.  # Zuckerberg ”. Ohio family and life advocates gathered Monday morning to oppose the government removal of a child from her parents’ custody so that she can take hormones for so-called gender transition – calling the case a “dangerous affront to the rights of parents and the health and well being of children.” Ohio-based pro-family advocacy group Citizens for Community Values and Right to Life of Greater Cincinnati held a press conference on the Hamilton County Courthouse steps in Cincinnati to announce legislative and other action in response to what’s being called an unprecedented move against parental rights by a judge. The legislation and call to action are due to Hamilton County Judge Sylvia Hendon’s ruling to remove a minor girl from her parents’ custody, and place her with her grandparents so that Cincinnati Children’s Hospital can administer “sex-change” drugs. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is planning a boycott of North Carolina over its law ( HB-2 ) requiring people to use the bathroom matching their biological sex . The NAACP says the law amounts to "gender discrimination." They are urging major sports teams and organizations, religious bodies and conferences, and music stars to refuse to schedule any activities in the state. NAACP national president Cornell Brooks   said   at a press conference that "children … are being imperiled" by gender separate bathrooms.
