  You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination. ( Leviticus 18:22 )   If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them. ( Leviticus 20:13) (emphasis added) Leviticus 18:22 and 20:13 refer to homosexuality as an abomination, a detestable act. Both passages use the Hebrew word toevah, and the context demands that the word be understood as referring to that which is morally unacceptable to God.  However, revisionists who contend that the Bible does not prohibit all forms of homosexuality , declare that the word toevah actually refers to some manner of ritual or religious uncleanness and not moral defilement ; they argue that the word speaks solely of ceremonial defilement. By choosing such a definition, without regard to the context, however, the revisionists unwittingly reveal some level of recognition

The Illinois Human Rights Commission has ordered a Christian businessman to pay two homosexuals $30,000 because he declined to host their gay "wedding." A panel of three commission members refused to hear an appeal from TimberCreek Bed and Breakfast owner Jim Walder, who in 2011 turned down a gay couple's request to celebrate their "union" at the Christian-owned business on religious grounds. In addition to the $30,000 that Walder was ordered to pay for causing emotional distress, he is responsible for more than $50,000 in attorney fees. Two of the three commission members on the panel were publicly involved in gay activism and/or were openly homosexual, according to Walder.   "The fix was in from the get-go," Walder said.  He plans to appeal to the full commission. Chip alluded to the situation on Twitter with a Bible verse about keeping the faith. "We don’t discriminate against members of the LGBT community in any of our shows," the network's statement said. "HGTV is proud to have a crystal clear, consistent record of including people from all walks of life in its series." Up until now, I’ve used only secular arguments involving logic, reason, and experience to address the issue of same-sex marriage. That’s how I first came to think about the issue. But  as I explained at  Public Discourse  last year , once I began thinking, reasoning , and examining my life, an extraordinary thing happened: I couldn’t stop. The Ottawa Gay Pride Parade will be led by 10-year-old boy who identifies as a girl in a move that pro-family leaders see as harmful and exploitive. Charlie Lowthian-Rickert, 10, was selected by Ottawa’s gay pride committee for his activism, along with his parents, in fighting amendments to last year’s so-called “bathroom bill” admitting transgenders to federally-run public washrooms of the opposite sex.   Lowthian-Rickert also appeared with Justice Minister Jody Wilson-Raybould on May 17 on Parliament Hill when the latter tabled Bill C-16, which amended human rights legislation to protect against discrimination based on gender identity. A Catholic parish recently screened a film spotlighting “gender identity,” the presentation of which its diocese says did not controvert Church teaching. The LGBT and Adult Faith Formation ministries of Sacramento’s St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church hosted  Call Me Malcolm  on June 22. The film was billed by the parish as a “down-to-earth, non-threatening and wholesome film” about a “transgendered man in his first year of United Church of Christ seminary.” The 90-minute documentary was written by a United Church of Christ (UCC) minister and produced in 2005 by the UCC. The owner of an Ohio bakery reportedly canceled a woman’s birthday cake order after she discovered that the customer was in a same-sex marriage. Candice Lowe tells ABC 13 that she was on her honeymoon in Florida when she says she received a text message from LeGresha Fizer-Brown, who owns Toledo’s Take the Cake Bakery, nixing her order for her wife Amanda’s birthday cake. In the July 4 message, Fizer-Brown allegedly told Lowe that her business does “not do cakes for same-sex weddings or parties.” “Candice, I’m sorry…I just realized your [sic] in a same sex relationship,” Fizer-Brown reportedly wrote in the text message . “I wasn’t aware of this exactly until I saw your page.” The Lowes, who were married just two weeks ago, said they “just wanted to cry” when they received the text.
