Manny Pacquiao vs. Shane Mosley (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Nike , one of the world’s largest sellers of sporting goods, is ending its sponsorship of Filipino boxing great Manny Pacquiao for condemning same sex “marriage.” “We find Manny Pacquiao’s comments abhorrent,” stated the company. “Nike strongly opposes discrimination of any kind and has a long history of supporting and standing up for the rights of the LGBT community . We no longer have a relationship with Manny Pacquiao.” The company paid him $1 million yearly for his endorsement, according to Total Sportek. Pacquiao’s career earnings are reported to top $300 million. Pacquiao, 37, a winner of world championships in eight weight classifications, was asked by a Manila TV station as he trained for a US fight next year what he thought of same sex “marriage.” “It’s common sense,” the boxer responded. “Will you see any animals where male is to male and female is to female? The animals are better. They know how to dist

Obama’s Big Mistake on Marriage

Thursday in Memphis, the town where Rev. Martin Luther King gave his life for civil rights, a group of black church leaders, many of whom marched with Rev. King, met to make a stand on marriage.  More than a dozen pastors and civil rights leaders called on Pres. Obama to reverse his decision and to tell him gay marriage is hijacking the civil rights movement. Here is the video of that historic meeting. “I marched for civil rights and I can tell you: I did not march one inch, one foot, one yard, one mile for same-sex marriage,” said Rev. Bill Owens. “No right is a civil right if it’s not square with God.”  (Bill Owens is also a liason to black churches for the National Organization for Marriage .)  The pastors, part of the Coalition for African- American Pastors, released a statement signed by major leaders of the black church–including Bishop George McKinney, who is on the governing board of the Church of God in Christ , the largest black Pentecostal denomination, and

May 17, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - What Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao has managed to accomplish inside the boxing ring is unprecedented.  Outside the squared-circle, the Filipino is just as impressive.  Maybe even more so, when one considers the formidable foe with which he went toe-to-toe just this week.  But this opponent’s reach, height, weight is of something altogether different than the ordinary pugilist who would climb under the ropes, swinging away with taped up, 10 ounce gloves, ready to inflict some serious pain.  Ring Announcer - “And in this corner… wearing green… weighing in at a number that even pollsters and proponents can’t agree upon… the challenger!... fresh off a 32nd straight loss courtesy of “We The People”... recently smoked on Tobacco Road…. down, but not out… Gaaaaaaaaay Marriage Activism!” In this most recent battle of a burgeoning culture war between those who believe marriage to be something of a special bond between one man and one women, and those wh

MANILA, Philippines , May 17, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - World boxing superstar and Philippines congressman Manny Pacquiao has stated his opposition to Barack Obama ’s endorsement of same-sex “marriage” and received a black eye for his trouble. During a May 12 interview with the  National Conservative Examiner  Pacquiao said the Bible is clear on homosexual activity and that with regard to marriage we must follow “God’s words first ... obey God’s law first before considering the laws of man.” “God only expects man and woman to be together and to be legally married, only if they so are in love with each other,” he said. In the written account of the interview, however, Granville Ampong of the Examiner quoted a passage from Leviticus in the Old Testament that condemns homosexual sex acts. “Pacquiao’s directive for Obama calls societies to fear God and not to promote sin, inclusive of same-sex marriage and cohabitation, notwithstanding what Leviticus 20:13 has been point
