Everyone Needs to Change, Including LGBT People

Image
I’m told I’ve got this wrong. I’m told that when it comes to people who identify as LGBT, God doesn’t expect them to change who they are or change who they love. I’m also told this is too hard a pill for evangelicals to swallow. I presume that what they mean is that people with same-sex attraction, a transgender identity, or who claim to be non-binary are free to embrace those impulses and satisfy those desires. God doesn’t expect them to change their identities or the objects of their affection. They can be faithful followers of Jesus while fully embracing their LGBT identity. Every person who follows Jesus experiences a change in who they are and what desires they will satisfy. The claim that becoming a follower of Jesus doesn’t entail change, however, is totally foreign to what it means to be a Christian.  Every believer who is transformed by the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit experiences a change of identity and lifestyle.  It’s unreasonable to expect that the same power that

The “straight” world — shorthand for those who do not identify as LGBT — has bought into lies asserting the normalcy of homosexuality, transgenderism, and the redefinition of marriage to such an extent that disagreeing with the new LGBT dogma is no longer just a violation of "political correctness" but is increasingly criminal.   To not honor sodomy is seen as perverse, and to seek to prevent the mutilation of the sexual organs of your children is deemed “child abuse,” an offense that can trigger losing custody of your child.    The “straight” world is lost, having made itself subservient to LGBT masters who have dubbed them “Cisgender,” a term that makes being in harmony with nature sound abnormal. What is the answer for a beguiled world that lacks the requisite intellectual curiosity, allegiance to truth, and will to free itself? Where will it come from?   The beacon that will lead society out of this thick darkness may very well arise from a surprising source: fo

Ex-LGBT People Declare Freedom in Jesus

“The Lion of the tribe of Judah is roaring, He’s roaring, to set the captives free,”  sang  a group of ex-LGBT people. They marched around the Washington Monument and toward the Ellipse in front of the White House and back on Saturday, May 25. The banner they carried read: “Freedom March Washington D.C.,” and “Hear the sound of freedom.” This Saturday marked the second annual Freedom March in Washington. This year saw significant growth in numbers. LifeSite News  reported  there were about 200 participants this year, a threefold increase from last year’s inaugural march. Stories That Need to be Heard “The whole reason why I started the freedom march was that I felt like all these stories of people that have left LGBTQ lifestyles needed to be heard,” Jeffrey McCall, Freedom March organizer  said  in an interview with CBN News. McCall has  his own story  of freedom from the LGBT lifestyle. He lived a homosexual lifestyle since age 15. In his early twenties, he began living as

My life before I pursued a change in my sexuality was what I would call "a hot mess.” Lonely, empty, unhappy, shackled, and unloved were the ways I felt for eight years after I came out. The more unhappy I was, the worse it got. My life was so consumed by homosexuality, drugs, and liquor that I wouldn’t give the time of day to my family. Having been raised in a strong Christian home, I felt a deep conflict between what I had known to be good and right, and the life I was living. I woke up hungover on June 11th, 2016, after a night of drinking and drug use. That evening my friends and I went to Pulse, a club in Orlando. At 2:02 a.m. everything changed. While saying our goodbyes, we heard a big POP! I dropped my drink, realizing the sounds were gunshots. As we ran, I was shot several times and fell down, pulling my friends with me. Struggling to stand back up, I felt a footstep behind my left leg and heard a loud snap which resulted in my left femur breaking. I couldn’t move or eve
