Study finds homosexuals less healthy, happy than heterosexuals

SYDNEY, Australia, July 20, 2015 ( – A major study funded by the Australian government has found that homosexuals are less personally fulfilled, have more health problems, and are not as happy in their relationships as "straight" people. In fact, the Household, Income and Labour Dynamics in Australia ( HILDA ) surveys reveal a marked difference in people's experiences based on their sexual identity . Participants are followed over time, and in-depth interviews are conducted annually with all adult members of each household.  For the first time in the study's 12-year history, respondents' sexual identity was researched as it relates to life satisfaction . The results were striking.  Gay, lesbian, and bisexual people fare far worse than heterosexual people on literally all well-being and social support measures studied, and such homosexuals consistently reported significantly lower "life satisfaction." Some evangelicals in the 'messy middle' on homosexuality and sin

These evangelicals find themselves in the "messy middle," Baylor University researchers Dr. Lydia Bean and Brandon Martinez argue, due to competing notions about how to engage with homosexuals : both wanting to show love and compassion for their gay neighbours, and wanting to remain loyal to the teachings of their faith. Those in the "messy middle," they find, are more similar to conservative than liberal evangelicals. Evangelicals sustain "two competing scripts about homosexuality," explain Bean, assistant professor of sociology, and Martinez, a doctoral student in sociology. First, evangelicals believe homosexual behaviour is sinful and harmful to those who engage in it. Second, evangelicals emphasize the importance of sharing their faith with others by building relationships in love and empathy. Expressing belief in the first can sometimes make the second more difficult because of the commonly expressed view that it is hateful to say that homosexual

Author of controversial ‘gold standard’ study on gay parenting being investigated by university after gays complain

The University of Texas has launched a “ scientific misconduct ” investigation of UT sociologist Mark Regnerus, after he was accused by homosexual activists of “scientific misconduct” in  his recent study .  Regnerus’ study, published in the July issue of Social Science Research,  found  that children of homosexual parents have significantly more social and mental-health problems than children of heterosexual parents. The study  has been described  as a “gold standard” study, because of its use of a large, random sample, with responses coming from the children of opposite sex and same-sex parents. Previous studies on the subject of homosexual parenting have typically used small “convenience” samples, and have often relied on the responses of the parents, rather than the children. Professor Mark Regnerus The study raised a tremendous outcry from gay rights activists, including from Scott Rosensweig, or “Scott Rose”, a writer on LGBTQ issues for “The  New Civil Rights Mov
