Ontario sex-ed: Classroom lessons are starting, and what we’re hearing is terrifying

Image
Last week we spoke to a mom who is on the parents council at her elementary school in the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). The mother shared with us that she had asked her Principal for advance notice of all Sex-ed lessons so she could choose whether or not to withdraw her child from class. The Principal stunned her with the following answer:  "We cannot give you advance notice because Sex-ed will be weaved throughout all subjects ". She is now in a battle with her school to have her parental rights respected. Lessons beginning now Now that we are into Spring, the controversial new curriculum will start to be taught at any time, and in some schools, has already started to roll out.  Therefore young children will soon be introduced to adult concepts of sex that are often dangerous to their health, both physically and spiritually. Even earlier than Grade 1 We spoke to another TDSB parent just today, whose five-year-old son was told by his teacher that

Catholic vice principal hid and lied about her homosexuality for 28 years to promote LGBTQ issues

A Catholic vice-principal in Ontario who declared she was ‘gay’ days before retirement, while admitting to being in a lesbian partnership, says that she used her position of influence for 28 years in a Catholic school board to advance the LGBTQ cause. “I’ve been doing the work for support for LGBTQ people for a long time, for actually the 28 years I’ve been in the board,” Joan Grundy, retiring vice-principal at St. Mary's Catholic High School in Kitchener, told CTV News . Grundy admitted to CBC News that she had been in a lesbian relationship for about a decade during this time but had presented herself as a faithful Catholic so she could maintain her job with its position of influence. Grundy, who has a Master's degree in theological studies with a concentration in counseling, has penned an account of her explicit rejection of the Catholic teaching on same-sex attraction in a book released this month titled “A Deepening Life”. “'A Deepening Life' is the story o

Bill Whatcott , Saskatchewan ’s irrepressible crusader against homosexuality, has won his second court battle within the month as Judge R.W. Elson ordered the CBC to pay him $30,000 for defamation. In late December Whatcott and his American counterpart, Peter LaBarbera of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality , were both acquitted of trespass charges for handing out flyers at the University of Regina . Late last week he won $30,000 from the CBC, Canada ’s public broadcaster, for a TV news show that said he wanted to kill homosexuals. “I thought they would get off, or that I would only get $1. Their lawyer was that good,” Whatcott told LifeSiteNews via cell phone, as he distributed more flyers (and what he calls “Christian condoms”) at the University of Regina on Monday. The CBC story aired on Oct. 12, 2011, as part of its coverage of Whatcott’s celebrated dispute with the Saskatchewan Human Rights Commission that had just been heard by the Supreme Court of Canada . SURREY, British Columbia ,  – The Surrey School Board has  tightened up  its newly minted “Safe and caring schools” policy with what it calls a “statement of values” that “underscores” its commitment to “eliminating discrimination based on sexual orientation or gender identity.” In the amendment to its June “anti-discrimination” policy, the Surrey school district will now “not permit or tolerate any homophobic and/or transphobic behavior such as harassment, intimidation, discrimination or bullying, whether by commission or by failing to act to end such behaviour.” The district justified the new policy this summer, stating that it “recognizes that school community members identifying (either publicly or privately) as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, two-spirit, intersex, queer or questioning ( LGBTQ ) face a unique set of challenges within schools and communities.” It was only a little more than a decade ago that the Surrey School Board  went to bat  in the cou

Alberta trustee under fire for suggesting gay teens should be less open

EDMONTON, Alberta , 23 November, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – An Alberta school trustee has come under attack in the media after suggesting that “it would be helpful” if students who self-identify as homosexual were less overt about their sexual orientation. “If children with a gay tendency appear a certain way, we know that we have to be vigilant to make sure they are not discriminated against,” Dale Schaffrick, who is the trustee for Pembina Hills Regional School Division and a farmer, told CBC News . Dale Schaffrick When asked if such students should be “less identifiable,” in the words of CBC, Schaffrick  reportedly responded  that “for their own benefit… it would be helpful.” The trustee had made similar remarks during a debate over an “anti-homophobia” proposal at the Alberta School Boards Association on Monday. The policy was rejected over concerns that it unnecessarily singled out homosexual students for protection, instead of protecting all students equally. E

A New Brunswick florist has come under fire by homosexual activists and their supporters for refusing to provide flowers to a lesbian couple for their “wedding” ceremony.  The florist, a Christian woman, reportedly said she does not want any part in a same-sex “marriage.” Kimberly Evans owns and operates her business “Petals and Promises Wedding Flowers” from her family home in Riverview, N.B.  After discovering that the “wedding” she had agreed to provide flowers to last month was a same-sex event, Evans sent an email to the lesbian couple explaining that she could not take their business. “I am choosing to decline your business. As a born-again Christian , I must respect my conscience before God and have no part in this matter,” the email said, according to CBC News . Evans, said that she is not making public comment at this time. The couple’s wedding planner, Mario Bourgeois Leduc of La Teraz in Moncton , immediately made the issue public on Twitter, while refusing to releas
