(AP Photo/Dennis System) Proctor, VT — According to NBC News, a pastor at the Christian Proctor Church in Vermont, has been sentenced to one year in federal prison after refusing to marry gay couples. This comes shortly after the Supreme Court’s 5-4 decision ruling that states must allow gay-marriage. The Christian Pastor, 56-year-old Paul Horner, had his lawyer speak to reporters on his behalf. “We are currently disputing the guilty verdict and I am confident my client will be a free man here shortly,” said attorney Tom Downey. “Horner was just using his best judgement according to his rights and religious freedom in this country.” The Honorable Myron Danus handed down the harsh sentence. “Religious freedom goes both ways, Mr. Horner,” Danus told a packed courtroom. “It is not your place to deny individuals the same righ

Christians abused by homosexual Marriage laws

Image
Folks like the Christian innkeepers in Vermont who were forced to cease providing wedding receptions because they did not want to open their inn to a same-sex wedding ceremony. Or the photographer in New Mexico who has been fined thousands of dollars because she could not in good conscience photograph a same-sex ceremony. Or the countless small business people who have been punished, sued or fined for sticking by their religious convictions concerning the truth of marriage. Homosexuals zealots ignore the law when it suits them then use the law when people object to them. LOUISVILLE, KY , August 13, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews ) – A Kentucky woman whose same-sex lover stands accused of capital murder has refused to testify in the trial, citing spousal privilege , even though Kentucky does not recognize gay ‘ marriages ’ and the two are only joined in a civil union granted in Vermont .  The woman’s attorneys say the complicated case could ultimately lead to a court-ordered reversal of Kentucky’s marriage amendment, which defines marriage as a union between one man and one woman. Bobbie Jo Clary Geneva Case, 49, has been called as a witness in the murder trial of her 37-year-old lover, Bobbie Jo Clary.  Clary stands accused of bludgeoning 64-year-old George Murphy to death with a hammer before stealing his van. Prosecutors called Case as a witness because they say Clary confessed the murder to her, and because she saw the blood inside the victim's van after the killing. Case has refused to take the stand, arguing that spousal privilege, which le

English: Protesters gathered inside the state capitol building in St. Paul, Minnesota, to protest against the upcoming vote by the Minnesota House of Representatives to put an anti-gay marriage amendment on the 2012 election ballot. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) In Rhode Island, all five Republican state senators joined the Democrats in the state senate to pass a same-sex marriage bill. It now goes back to the House which had previously passed a gay marriage bill and the governor has promised to sign it. The Rhode Island bill does not create a new category of marriage for same-sex couples . Rather, it completely redefines marriage for all people in Rhode Island. Some religious liberty protections were added for churches. But as Scott Spear, a NOM Rhode Island Advisory Board member, told the press, "It won't be long before gay 'marriage' activists start pressing hard their new found rights on the faithful in Rhode Island. In Vermont, Christian innkeepers were sued. It

Official photographic portrait of US President Barack Obama (born 4 August 1961; assumed office 20 January 2009) (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) FIFTY YEARS AGO,  every state criminalized homosexual sex , and even the American Civil Liberties Union did not object. The federal government would not hire people who were openly gay or permit them to serve in the military. Police routinely raided gay bars. Only a handful of gay-rights organizations existed, and their membership was sparse. Most Americans would have considered the idea of same-sex marriage facetious. Today, opinion polls consistently show a majority of Americans endorsing such marriages; among those aged 18 to 29, support is as high as 70 percent. President Barack Obama has embraced marriage equality. Last November, for the first time, a majority of voters in a state—in fact, in  three  states—approved same-sex marriage, and in a fourth, they rejected a proposed state constitutional amendment to forbid it. How did
