Boycott Starbucks supporters of homosexual marriage

Image
I was asked that question last week, as a result of some controversial statements made last month by the coffee company’s CEO in which he publicly supported gay marriage. But what about Glle, The Family Man, Ellen and other immoral shows? If I were a coffee snob, I probably would have answered that we should boycott Starbucks because they burn their beans. But I’m not a coffee snob. And I knew that wasn’t really the heart behind the question. My actual response went something like this: If your conscience is pricked by drinking Starbucks coffee , then you should not drink Starbucks coffee. That is a decision that you ought to make in your own heart before the Lord. But if other believers choose not to join you in your boycott (because they don’t share that same personal conviction), you should not judge them for responding differently than you do. While it is not an exact parallel, the situation regarding food offered to idols (addressed by Paul in 1 Corinthians 8-9) provides us

Like traditional marriage? Then dump Starbucks, says National Organization for Marriage

WASHINGTON, March 28, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Your morning cup of coffee isn’t the only heated thing Starbucks is brewing. Because of the coffee giant’s aggressive activism in support of the controversial issue of same-sex “marriage,” pro-family advocates have launched a boycott to send a message that Starbucks should keep coffee out of the marriage debate. The  DumpStarbucks campaign  was launched by the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) after Kalen Holmes, Starbucks executive vice president, told U.S. partners in January that the Seattle-based company backed Washington state’s same-sex “marriage” legislation as “core to who we are and what we value as a company.” The coffee company has publicly supported the gay rights agenda since at least 2005, and has joined an amicus brief against the federal Defense of Marriage Act. At a board meeting on March 21, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz confirmed  Holmes’ statement as the position adopted by the board and “not something that

As such, Starbucks has deeply offended at least half its US customers, and the vast majority of its international customers. On January 12th, 2012, Starbucks issued a memorandum declaring that same-sex marriage 'is core to who we are and what we value as a company. Starbucks also used its resources to participate in a legal case seeking to overturn a federal law declaring marriage as the union of one man and one woman. In many areas of the world where Starbucks does business, the concept of 'gay marriage' is unheard of and deeply offensive to cultural, moral and religious values. In taking these actions, Starbucks has declared a culture war on a

Starbucks backs gay ‘marriage’

SEATTLE , January 30, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – In news that will come as a heavy blow to many coffee lovers, Starbucks has officially backed homosexual ‘marriage.’ In a January 24 letter to U.S. partners, Kalen Holmes, Starbucks executive vice president, expresses support for the homosexual “marriage” legislation in Washington State .  The “important legislation,” says Holmes “is core to who we are and what we value as a company.” The legislation  has been decried  by pro-family advocates as a major threat to freedom, since it would force religious institutions to open the doors of their facilities for homosexual “ marriages .” The letter, which boasts of the company’s LGBT activism begins, “Starbucks is proud to join other leading Northwest employers in support of Washington State legislation recognizing marriage equality for same-sex couples.” The letter concludes: “We look forward to seeing this legislation enacted into law.” “I’m disappointed that Starbucks wants to redefi
