Liberal sports reporter: Golden State Warriors’ coach may have been fired for ‘traditional values’

SAN FRANCISCO, CA , May 12, 2014 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – A liberal sports columnist for the  San Francisco Chronicle  is  speculating  that the recent firing of Golden State Warriors ’ basketball coach Mark Jackson may have come down to his Christian faith being a poor fit for the San Francisco-based team in the mind of its openly homosexual president. Jackson also pastors a church in the Los Angeles area. “Everything about Jackson was under scrutiny, which includes his very public persona as a religious man,” wrote Ann Killion at  SFGate.com .  “It was probably not at the top of the list, but was probably on the list.”   Mark Jackson “I’ve often wondered how comfortable it was for Jackson and team president Rick Welts to co-exist in the same organization,” Killion continued. “Welts is openly gay, becoming the first high-ranking executive in professional sports to come out back in 2011. He’s a strong, professional leader who is excellent at his job.  Jackson is a fundamental

Athletes, activists push immoral homosexual agenda at UN on Human Rights Day

NEW YORK, - On Human Rights Day , famous athletes and UN officials met at UN headquarters to condemn what they consider to be discrimination against homosexuals. Russia took the brunt of the criticism ahead of the Winter Olympics to be held in Sochi next February. It is the first of several countries that have enacted a law to protect children from information that glamorizes unhealthy sexual behaviors, homosexuality being considered one of them. US ambassador to the UN Samantha Power called Russia’s law “as outrageous as it is dangerous” at a press conference early in the day. “Sports have the power to change the world,” Czech tennis star Martina Navratilova told homosexual and transgender activists at an event at UN headquarters. Given Russia’s increasing international influence, that law is particularly problematic to homosexual activists and critics. Ambassador Power said that discriminating against homosexuals is “barbarism” and spent the morning at a strategy s

When Christians become a 'hated minority'

Image
( CNN ) - When Peter Sprigg speaks publicly about his opposition to homosexuality, something odd often happens. During his speeches, people raise their hands to challenge his assertions that the Bible condemns homosexuality, but no Christians speak out to defend him. “But after it is over, they will come over to talk to me and whisper in my ear, ‘I agree with everything you said,’" says Sprigg, a spokesman for The Family Research Council , a powerful, conservative Christian lobbying group. We’ve heard of the “down-low” gay person who keeps his or her sexual identity secret for fear of public scorn. But Sprigg and other evangelicals say changing attitudes toward homosexuality have created a new victim: closeted Christians who believe the Bible condemns homosexuality but will not say so publicly for fear of being labeled a hateful bigot. As proof, Sprigg points to the backlash that ESPN commentator Chris Broussard sparked recently. Broussard was called a bigot and a purveyor o

God hates the homosexual sin but still sends the unrepentant sinner to hell

Portal of the Church of Pilgrims, in Washington, DC, with a LGBT banner. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Monday’s announcement by Jason Collins that he is gay is the latest example of the homosexual “issue” being elevated into the secular marketplace. The new normal is for homosexuals to announce their sexual identity , and then receive affirmation for their bravery, boldness, and honesty from their co-workers and clients (or, in the case of Collins, journalists). This puts Christians with secular jobs in a predicament. Most believers understand perfectly well the concept of hate the sin and love the sinner. But that concept is more and more being seen as inadequate simply because homosexuals often perceive their sexual orientation as their identity, thus rendering any attempt to love the sinner while hating the sin as contradictory. The difficulty is compounded for believers who work with, for, or around those who are openly homosexual. How should Christians respond to those in the
