An ex-nun habituated to homosexual behavior who has been prohibited from teaching Catholic religion classes in Chilean public schools will soon have her case heard by the Inter- American Commission for Human Rights , on the grounds of “discrimination.” Sandra Pavez, who reportedly taught the Catholic religion to public school students for 22 years, was removed from her position in 2007 when her immoral personal behavior became known to both the bishop and the vicar of education of the diocese of San Bernardo , according to commission filings. Although the bishop admonished Pavez to “immediately terminate her homosexual life,” and urged her to seek psychological help for her behavior, she refused. As a result, the diocese sent a letter to Pavez and to the local director of education, informing her that her certificate of suitability for teaching Catholicism had been revoked. Image via Wikipedia WASHINGTON, DC , November 18 ( C-FAM )- Legal and human rights experts are criticizing the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (Commission) for “overstepping” its authority and advancing a dangerous trend that harms the cause of human rights. The criticism follows the Commissions decision to “strengthen its capacity” to promote sexual orientation by creating a “Unit on the Rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, and Intersex ( LGBTI ) Persons.” The Commission, a branch of the Organization of American States (OAS), called the new Unit “part of the comprehensive approach the IACHR has adopted.” A close observer to the Organization of American States and its various bodies called this development part of an “insidious” trend. Speaking on the condition of anonymity, he told the Friday Fax that the “overall trend in human rights to single out particular groups for special attention at the expense of other rights and groups” poses a “threat to the overall integ
