Counselling student sues after Missouri State expelled him over Christian beliefs

Image
A Christian student is suing Missouri State University for ejecting him from its Masters in Counselling program in a case with huge implications for the counselling and psychotherapy professions. Andrew Cash was a student nearing completion of MSU ’s Masters of Counselling program in 2011 when he served his internship at the Springfield Marriage and Family Institute (SMFI), a Christian counselling center where he worked with couples while under supervision of the accredited staff. Cash got into trouble when he persuaded one of his teachers to let the institute give a class presentation on Christian counselling. One of Cash’s classmates asked the director what he would do if asked to counsel a same-sex couple. He responded that he would counsel them as individuals but not as a couple because of his religious convictions about marriage being necessarily heterosexual. Shortly SMFI was removed from MSU’s list of approved supervising agencies, Cash’s 51 hours of supervised cou

Homosexual Zealots pressure Ireland, Serbia, Kosovo, Russia, Nigeria, Uganda, India and Malta

ROME, January 17, 2014 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – The homosexualist lobby, one of the most powerful at the European Union and Council of Europe, has been busy over the last month, particularly with preparations for opposing Russia’s “gay propaganda ban” in the lead up to the Sochi Winter Olympics. The main player in Europe’s branch of the movement is  ILGA Europe , (International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association,) an NGO funded directly by the European Union and a consortium of far-left foundations.  The group works tirelessly and systematically to bring  the homosexualist ideology  to legal and social fruition in every country of the European Union, issuing demands, normally with the wholehearted support of activist MEPs, that nations like Serbia and Croatia toe the line before they are considered for membership in the EU. In countries where civil partnerships are already established, they work to change the definition of marriage to include same-sex p

Flour power: bakers stick to beliefs despite backlash from gay activists

City Hall of Portland, Oregon (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) January 20, 2014 ( FRC ) - In a politically correct world, the costs of running a business are a lot more than dollars and cents. For Aaron and Melissa Klein, the owners of a small Oregon bakery, the price is their First Amendment rights . Their dream of opening a dessert shop near Portland, Oregon turned into a nightmare when two lesbians refused to take "no" for an answer on their request for a same-sex "wedding" cake. Exactly one year ago, the Kleins explained that they couldn't take the order because it would violate their faith to participate in a same-sex "marriage" ceremony. Furious, the women filed a complaint with the state. The story made national headlines, as the young couple became another face in the war on religious liberty. "We still stand by what we believe from the beginning," Aaron told reporters. "I'm not sure what the future holds, but as far as

Judges reject lawsuit and nix restraining order by gay sex offender against pro-family group

December 6, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - A federal judge  has recommend  the dismissal of a one million dollar lawsuit filed by homosexual activist and convicted sex offender Adam Flanders against the Massachussetts pro-family organization MassResistance and its president, Brian Camenker. The lawsuit was filed in response to MassResistance’s publication of a  public letter  written by Flanders in 2007 and sent to at least two organizations, which was also published by a local newspaper, on whose website the  letter still appears .  The letter claimed to expose sexual improprieties and abuses attributed to adult leaders of a homosexual youth group in his town, and spoke of Flanders’ own sexual interactions with minors after he had reached the age of 18. Flanders was later convicted of sexual abuse of a minor in a different case, for which he is on the Maine sex offender registry.  He was also convicted of assaulting one of the boys with whom he had had a sexual relationship at

Image via Wikipedia Illinois ’ remaining Catholic adoption agencies are seeking an emergency court injunction after the state ended their contracts last week over their refusal to participate in same-sex adoptions.  The state’s move would end a thirty-year-old partnership and affect 2,500 foster children . “They made a choice,” Gov. Pat Quinn, a Catholic himself, told reporters in a July 11th press conference.  “They have a law in Illinois. It’s the civil unions law. I signed it into law. We’re not going back. Any organization that decides that because of the civil unions law that they won’t participate voluntarily in a program, that’s their choice.” The Thomas More Society , acting on behalf of Catholic Charities in the dioceses of Peoria, Joliet, and Springfield, will ask a Sangamon County judge for an injunction Tuesday. The agencies had sued the state last month asking the court to declare that their policy of not recruiting unmarried couples for foster care was within the l
