A doctor who has worked for 26 years with the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) has been “sacked” for refusing to use transgendered patients’ incorrect, “preferred” pronouns.    The treatment of the 55-year-old father of four who believes that sex is biological and not a matter of personal preference raises questions about the chilling effect that pro-LGBT policies of government agencies have on freedom of speech , especially when it comes to Christians.     Multiple  reports  from UK  media  indicate that Dr. David Mackereth was “deemed to be ‘unfit to work’ after he said he would refuse to identify patients by their preferred gender.”  Mackereth had sought a new position within NHS as a disability assessor for the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP). A woman who had requested a female nurse to conduct her cervical exam ( pap smear ) was shocked when a male nurse appeared instead who claimed to be "transsexual." The woman, who has not been named, described the nurse as having “an obviously male appearance, close-cropped hair, a male facial appearance and voice, [a] large number of tattoos and facial stubble.”  The patient told  Sunday Times , “People who are not comfortable about this are presented as bigots and this is kind of how I was made to feel about it.”  She decided not to go through with her exam and later complained to the National Health Service .   The woman said it was “weird where somebody says to you: ‘My gender is not male’ and you think ‘Well what does that even mean? The number of children being treated by the National Health Service for gender dysphoria has increased by 1,000 percent over the past five years, according to a story in the London Sun . The paper reports that at the NHS Tavistock and Portman clinic where all UK transgender patients under 18 are treated, “their families are given counselling and, in some instances, [the patients are given] hormone blocking treatments” as preparation for a possible “sex change” after 18. “Last month it was revealed a five-year-old boy returned to school in Nottinghamshire as a girl,” the Sun added. “They should be getting psychotherapy,” Dr. Joseph Berger, a leading Canadian psychiatrist, told LifeSiteNews. “These children are unhappy for a variety of reasons. They should be treated for their unhappiness. EDINBURGH,  – While Scottish government draft guidelines currently allow teachers with moral objections to opt-out of certain aspects of the country’s new sex-ed curriculum, several National Health Service boards have objected to the opt-out clause. They are also objecting to provisions allowing parents to opt their children out of the classes. Currently, the guidelines require teachers who have a moral objection to things like teaching about gay “marriage” to opt out, if alternative arrangements are made "where possible."
