Pro-family groups blasted Ontario premier Doug Ford’s government Wednesday over a sex-ed curriculum they say is a betrayal of parents and no better than the radical program Liberal premier Kathleen Wynne rolled out in 2015. They also denounced the Tory government’s “opt-out” provision, much touted in the press, as “completely ineffective.” After Ford’s landslide victory last June, his government scrapped Wynne’s 2015 sex-ed curriculum and reverted to a 2010 version pending promised consultations with parents, although Lisa Thompson, his education minister at the time, said students had to learn gender identity theory.   But most media accounts agree the Grade 1 to 8 sex-ed curriculum that education minister Stephen Lecce released online August 21 closely resembles the Liberal product Ford vowed during his election campaign to repeal. Alberta’s newly minted United Conservative Party government is under fire from media and LGBT activists for the demise of an NDP ad hoc group tasked with advising the former health minister on banning so-called conversion therapy. Such therapy aims to help individuals overcome unwanted same-sex attraction or gender confusion, and though evidence exists it does much good, the nearly universally accepted view now advanced in Canada by media, LGBT activists, and healthcare professionals are that it is a harmful pseudo-science. It is sometimes called reparative therapy. Ontario, Manitoba, and Nova Scotia have all outlawed therapists helping people overcome such unwanted feelings, and B.C.’s Green Party leader Andrew Weaver introduced similar legislation on Monday. A so-called "human rights tribunal" in Canada has just ruled that a Christian activist must pay $55,000 to a provincial politician because he referred to this politician as a "biological male" in a political pamphlet. The politician in question, Morgane Oger (born Ronan Oger), is a biological male. However, he has since "transitioned," and is living his life as a "transgender woman." According to the decision, Bill Whatcott must compensate Oger for injuring the latter's "dignity, feelings, and self-respect." The terrifying precedent set by this case can be illustrated by one, flabbergasting fact: The judge in the case refused to allow Whatcott's lawyer to offer testimony showing that, in point of fact, Oger is a biological male. A lesbian and former Catholic school teacher have written a book claiming Alberta and Ontario’s publicly funded Catholic schools are “potential hotbeds for homophobia,” for which she appears to argue Catholic teaching is to blame. Tonya Callaghan quit teaching in a Catholic school, where she allegedly suffered “homophobia” daily after a homosexual student committed suicide. In an article for The Conversation, Callaghan attributed that to homophobic bullying the standard LGBT response.  She then devoted herself to the research of “homophobia and transphobia” in Catholic schools, and “also to begin to question and understand how these phobias are institutionalized.” Callaghan — now a University of Calgary assistant professor of education — discovered the problem is Catholic teaching on homosexuality. A Canadian woman has filed a human rights complaint alleging she had to share a room in a shelter for recovering women addicts with a biological man “transitioning” to a woman. To make matters worse, when she sought advice on her legal rights, Kristi Hanna was told by Ontario’s Human Rights Legal Support Centre she was potentially violating the law by referring to the “trans” woman as a man, the  National Post  reported Thursday. Hanna launched Human Rights Tribunal of Ontario complaint against the Jean Tweed Center, which runs Palmerston House, after allegedly spending two nights in the same room as a biological man. The 37-year-old former paramedic has “been struggling with the lingering effects of sexual abuse and resulting problems with addiction to alcohol and cocaine,” reported the National Post’s Joseph Brean. Hanna alleges in her complaint the shelter “admitted a male-bodied transgender into the safety of my home, bedroom and safe spaces,” and this caused her “stres
