San Francisco created a special protected class of people - cultural district for transgender persons, marking the first legal transgender district created anywhere in the world. Its a no-go zone for others. San Francisco’s Tenderloin district is now home to “Compton’s Transgender Cultural District,” The Daily Beast reported Tuesday . The Tenderloin is a triangular neighborhood located a few blocks from San Francisco’s City Hall. It is also San Francisco ’s most notorious drug district , according to authorities, Vice reported in 2014. It is one of the most dangerous districts in the city, authorities say. Hyde Street’s 300 block is regarded as the city’s grossest block. Human waste lying in the streets is a norm, reported The New York Times in October. The block is part of San Francisco’s Tenderloin neighborhood. In the 1990s, I attended a gay wedding ceremony at a Catholic Church in San Francisco – performed by a Catholic priest . Friends and acquaintances had similar marriage "blessings" in San Francisco. As of a few years ago, when I spoke with another priest involved in these ceremonies, this practice continued. When I left the Castro in 1999, I thought my experiences with facilitating and lecherous priests were endemic to a relatively small section of the world ranging from the Castro to USF . Ten years later, when I started writing about the topic, I heard stories from Catholics (primarily mothers with "gay" sons) who lived in every part of the U.S. They told a similar tragic tale – how a concerned parent sent a confused kid to an officially sanctioned LGBT ministry in his diocese, and the boy later emerged as a gay rights advocate. There exists today a massive crisis within the “gay” community that is a direct result of the intense trauma, particularly in “gay” men, experienced during the height of AIDS epidemic. A Christian political action group and a parents group are responding to the controversy over a pro-life group comparing the Holocaust to abortion by accusing the New Democratic government of promoting unscientific and dangerous gender ideology. When Education Minister David Eggen leaked to the press his objections to the comparison made in a Red Deer Catholic high school by the local pro-life group, sex-education advocate Cristina Stasia called for an investigation of what “third party” groups are teaching students about sex and abortion. The Calgary Sexual Health Centre and the Compass Centre for Sexual Wellness joined her in calling for an investigation into third party content, but they were referring to social conservative groups. The Christian Post recently ran the headline, “ San Francisco ’s Largest Evangelical Megachurch to Allow Non-Celibate Homosexuals to Be Members.” Apparently, the Elder Board of City Church announced that they will end the practice of preventing LGBT people from becoming members if they are unwilling or unable to practice lifelong celibacy. “Our pastoral practice of demanding life-long ‘celibacy,’ by which we meant that for the rest of your life you would not engage your sexual orientation in any way, was causing obvious harm and has not led to human flourishing,” Sr. Pastor Fred Harrell writes in a letter “on behalf of the Board and for the Gospel.” The pastor cites social science research, saying it points to “skyrocketing rates of depression, suicide and addiction” among the LGBT people. Dana Rivers, a “ male-to-female ” transgender activist who was once an “honorary marshal” for San Francisco ’s annual homosexual “pride” parade, was arrested earlier this month on triple-murder charges in Oakland, Calif. The Sacramento Bee   reported   Nov. 16: “Dana Rivers, 61, of San Jose was arrested early Friday in Oakland on suspicion of killing Patricia Wright , 57; Wright’s wife, Charlotte Reed, 56; and the couple’s 19-year-old son, Toto Diambu-Wright. Police said the two women were both stabbed and shot, and the man was stabbed. They were pronounced dead at the scene. “Police said Rivers was covered in blood and about to ride away on Reed’s motorcycle when she was arrested.” Rivers, formerly David Wakefield, became a “transgender” activist in 1999 after getting national attention for being suspended from his high school teaching job for arriving in the new school year dressed and living as a “woman” and affirming his new “female” identity to students.
