(Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Planned Parenthood took advantage of Mother’s Day to promote the antithesis of empowered motherhood : abortion . On its Twitter account, the nation’s largest abortion provider celebrated abortion and gender fluidity on the holiday dedicated to honoring mothers and the sacrifices they make for their children: “Planned Parenthood works every day to promote healthy, planned motherhood all over the world, and to support moms of all ages, races, and walks of life,” the abortion giant posted on Facebook .  “We wish you a Happy Mother's Day!” According to its   own annual report , Planned Parenthood ripped 323,999 children out of their mothers’ wombs during the fiscal year 2014-2015.  Planned Parenthood’s work promoting “healthy, planned motherhood all over the world” includes supplying to women hormonal birth control that the   Wor

Utah stands for traditional marriage

Utah Standing for Marriage I was honored,  on Tuesday , to be able to join hundreds of pro-marriage supporters at the Salt Lake City Capitol Rotunda for  a wonderful rally supporting Utah's marriage amendment. The turnout was great, and I take my hat off to the organizers who did such a fantastic job pulling the event together. But even more so, I owe high praise to the many wonderful Utah citizens I saw there who came out to express their pro-marriage views and who did so with such positivity, kindness, and dignity. In his " State of the State " address the following day, Governor Gary Herbert   stressed how important those elements are to a healthy public discourse , saying that he wished for Utah to "be a model of how to work through honest disagreements with civility and respect." Well, of course Governor Herbert is right, and I can honestly say from what I saw  on Tuesday  that pro-marriage Utahans are already fulfilling that wish.  Unfortun

Obama administration may add taxpayer-funded sex-change operations to ObamaCare, Medicare, Medicaid

DES MOINES, IA ,  – The Affordable Care Act (ACA) is one of the most controversial laws in America because of its mandates, taxes, and coverage of elective abortions with a $1 surcharge. Now, there may be another reason for debate on the law's merits: taxpayer-funded “gender reassignment” surgery. The law may fund costs related to gender reassignment,  according to Andi Medici  in FederalTimes.com. Since 1981, federal law has barred federal tax dollars from paying for "transsexual surgery" through programs like Medicare and Medicaid . On December 2, the HHS Department's appeals board  decided  that the “ National Coverage Determination ” should be reconsidered, opening the door to taxpayer-funded sex-change operations .  Medici adds that  Section 1557  of the Affordable Care Act, conventionally known as ObamaCare , no longer explicitly states that the federal subsidies will not require coverage for transgender-related surgeries. Since the ACA does prev

Court plays God over homosexual sinful marriage

Pro and anti-Proposition 8 protesters rally in front of the San Francisco City Hall as the California Supreme Court holds a session in the to determine the definition of marriage (Strauss v. Horton cases). (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) This year, the Supreme Court will render judgment on the  institution of marriage . Though most of us don’t realize it, the Court first did so forty-one years ago in  Eisenstadt  v.  Baird , a decision that gravely wounded marriage and set the nation on a course of gradual debilitation by ruling that states could not restrict the sale of contraceptives to unmarried people. In its forthcoming decision, the Court may give marriage the  legal  coup de grace . Or it may surprise us, redeem itself, and use the occasion to correct the drift of legal thought on sexuality, marriage, and the rights of children . All three are inextricably linked. In  Eisenstadt,  the Court overturned Massachusetts state law and pulled new sexual rights for singles out
