Radical Activist Judges forcing immoral homosexual marriage

Image
U.S. Supreme Court building. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) 2014 has started with a bang... a few days before the end of last year, an activist federal judge in Utah issued a ludicrous decision striking down that state's constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. He did this despite the Supreme Court ruling last summer (in the  Windsor  case) that clearly upheld a state's right to define and regulate marriage. He also ignored past legal precedent from the Supreme Court defending the legality of state constitutional marriage amendments. Rather than rely on precedent, he engaged in rampant speculation that eventually the U. S. Supreme Court would agree with him to make marriage genderless. Talk about imposing a personal viewpoint contrary to law! Well, in the first few weeks of new year, another activist federal judge in Oklahoma has done the same thing — throwing out Oklahoma's constitutional amendment defending marriage! Th

Homosexual marriage sank like a stone

"Sank Like a Stone" — that's how same-sex marriage faired in Australia this past week. Australia held elections for Prime Minister the other day, but it was as much a referendum on whether the Aussies would redefine marriage or not. Former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd nailed his hopes of winning to a promise of introducing legislation to redefine marriage within the first 100 days of returning to office. As was reported , the pro-marriage platform of the former Prime Minister "sank beneath the waves" of the pro-marriage majority down under. You may remember I had traveled to Australia in August for the World Congress of Families , and I could not be happier for the friends I made on that trip and our pro-marriage and family allies there. It's a great victory for marriage, and a win worth celebrating across the globe. It also serves as a reminder that when people are given the right to vote on marriage, they invariably vote to preserve the true and

Pro-life Democrat supports Constitutional amendment protecting marriage

A constitutional amendment to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman has attracted bipartisan support from a pro-life Democrat in the House of Representatives . Congressman Nick Rahall , D- WV , has joined as a co-sponsor of Tim Huelskamp 's motion to protect marriage. Rep. Nick Rahall, D-WV Rahall, who has a 92 percent lifetime  voting record from National Right to Life , is the only Democrat to support the legislation to date. Brian Brown of the National Organization for Marriage said the West Virginia Congressman is the first “hopefully of many” Democratic representatives to support traditional marriage. “Rep. Rahall's support proves once again that marriage is an issue that cuts past partisan politics and special interests, speaking universally to our shared common sense principles, such as every child's right to have both a mom and a dad,” Brown said. Approximately  one-third of Democrats  do not believe in same-sex “marriage,” accor

Media Bias and Homosexual Marriage

Image
English: Anthony Kennedy, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The US Supreme Court has decided that, at least for now, marriage is the purview of the states, and they declined to "constitutionalize" gay 'marriage.' That's good news for us, because 38 states already define marriage as the union of one man and one woman - the vast majority of them in their state constitutions . It is imperative that we protect that turf, and go on to win more states. So as a matter of first importance, NOM will continue to work tirelessly with our national and state partners to defend natural marriage whenever and wherever it is under attack. That includes working legislatively in states like Illinois, New Jersey and Hawaii, and at the ballot box in states like Ohio and Oregon. And NOM will continue to press hard for the right of states to have their voters define marriage in state constitutions. We join with Governor Mike Pen

House votes to block same-sex ‘weddings’ on military bases

Image via Wikipedia As the military prepares for the repeal of the Don’t Ask Don’t Tell policy to go into effect, the House of Representatives passed an amendment last Friday prohibiting same sex “weddings” from taking place on military bases. On the same day the Pentagon issued an order initiating the repeal of Don’t Ask, according to a  Los Angeles Times report .  The armed services were ordered to begin admitting service members “without regard to sexual orientation.” The House amendment, introduced by Kansas Rep. Tim Huelskamp , also blocks funds for training chaplains on implementation of the new policy. It was added to the 2012 Department of Defense authorization bill by a vote of 236 – 184. Huelskamp was one of 63 members of the House who signed a letter to Navy Secretary Ray Mabus after the Office of the Chief of Navy Chaplains announced that same-sex “weddings” would be permitted in naval chapels located in states where same-sex “marriage” is legal.  “Offering up fe
