Homosexuals teaching in Catholics Schools

Image
Image via Wikipedia In a September, Elzbieta Radziszewska , a senior Polish official who deals with anti-discrimination issues, told a Catholic newspaper that church-owned schools and colleges could refuse to hire homosexuals and could fire those already employed where that is consistent with their church's values and principles.   Yesterday's  Christian Century  reports that  European Union Justice Commissioner Viviane Reding disagrees, saying that sexual orientation cannot be a genuine occupational requirement for a teacher.  On October 26, in response to parliamentary questions, Redding issued a written statement saying that while under EU's  directive on equal treatment in employment religious organizations are allowed to take a person's religion or belief into account where necessary, that exception does not justify discrimination on ground other than religion or belief.  Radziszewska responded that the EU directive allows religious organizations to

The Ugly Truth Don't Ask Don't Tell

Image
Image via Wikipedia 1. CONGRESS VOTES TO HOMOSEXUALIZE US MILITARY. Scott Brown abandons his pro-family base and votes with Democrats. We can't over-emphasize the terrible thing that's happening to America. In an historic display of corruption and sleaze,  the Democrat-controlled US House and Senate -- along with Republican Scott Brown and other RINOs -- effectively voted to repeal "Don't Ask Don't Tell," with the US Senate vote Saturday. This opens the door to public integration of homosexuality (and even transgenderism) into the US Armed Forces.  It will be a change of monumental destructive proportions.  It was immediately celebrated throughout the liberal media. Banner headline as Boston Globe  and liberal media celebrate. Sub-headlines: "Repeal of rule signals trend toward tolerance. Scott Brown one of six to break GOP ranks." The margin of victory came from Congressmen and Senators who had already been defeated  in the Nov. 2 elections,

Don't Ask Don't Tell Culture Wars

Image
Image via Wikipedia A Democratic Congress, discharged by the voters on Nov. 2, has as one of its last official acts, imposed its San Francisco values on the armed forces of the United States .     "Don't ask, don't tell" is to be repealed. Open homosexuals are to be welcomed with open arms in all branches of the armed services.     Let us hope this works out better for the Marine Corps than it did for the Catholic Church .      Remarkable. The least respected of American institutions, Congress, with an approval rating of 13 percent, is imposing its cultural and moral values on the most respected of American institutions, the U.S. military.     Why are we undertaking this social experiment with the finest military on earth? Does justice demand it? Was there a national clamor for it?     No. It is being imposed from above by people, few of whom have ever served or seen combat, but all of whom are aware of the power of the homosexual rights lobby. This is a

Don't Ask Don't Tell

Image via Wikipedia The Pentagon's poll on "don't ask, don't tell" is beyond idiotic. Instead of asking whether the troops support repeal of DADT , the Pentagon asked only if they can learn to play nice with the gays . Even more absurdly, the Pentagon polled all military "personnel" -- and their spouses! Only a small portion of what is known as "the military" actually does the fighting . The rest is a vast bureaucracy along the lines of the DMV. Today's military features "victim advocates" and sensitivity training facilitators, the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services personnel and a million other goo-goo positions. How did we ever take the shores of Normandy without a phalanx of "sensitivity training" counselors? No one has any need to be reassured that the military's " social action " staff will enjoy working with gays. Whatever a career in "social action" entails, it bett

Arguments supporting Gays used to support incest

Image
Image via Wikipedia There are certain questions now pressed upon us that previous generations would never believe could be asked. One of these is thrust upon us by events in New York City , where a well-known Ivy League professor has been arrested for the crime of incest . What makes the question urgent is not so much the arrest, but the controversy surrounding it. David Epstein is a professor of political science at Columbia University , where his wife also teaches. He previously taught on the faculties of Harvard and Stanford. Last week, he was arraigned before a judge in Manhattan , charged with a single count of felony incest. According to authorities, Professor Epstein was for several years involved in a sexual relationship with his adult daughter, now age 24. Though the story was ignored by much of the mainstream media, it quickly found its way into the cultural conversation. William Saletan of Slate.com, who remains one of today’s most relevant writers working on the issue

Catholic Union supports gay movement against wishes of teachers

Image
Image via Wikipedia Faithful Catholic teachers are outraged after discovering that the Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Association (OECTA) is funding Canada’s leading homosexualist organization with dues collected from them. According to OECTA’s website, the organization represents 45,000 teachers in publicly-funded English Catholic schools in the province.  All the teachers are compelled to pay dues to the organization, which vary according to teaching status, with many having nearly $1000 per year deducted from their paychecks. This gives the union huge financial clout. In its  2009-2010 Annual Report , the organization Equality for Gays and Lesbians Everywhere (EGALE), which famously lobbied successfully to legalize gay ‘marriage’ in Canada in 2005, lists OECTA as a partner (See  page 3 ).  EGALE’s support of same-sex ‘marriage’ often included ferocious attacks against the Catholic Church .  In a 2005 essay two prominent EGALE leaders, Kevin Bourassa and Joe Varnell, condemne
