Supporters of marriage across the country have been charged by governmental entities with "discrimination" and subsequently fined , shamed and punished. In Washington , the state Attorney General is suing a 70-year old grandmother simply because she didn't want to personally participate in arranging flowers for a gay 'wedding' because doing so violates her religious beliefs. He has threatened her with financial ruin unless she agrees to apologize, change her ways and pay a fine. Across the border in Oregon , the state has fined two Christian bakers $135,000 because they did not want to bake a cake celebrating a gay 'wedding' even

Hodges, some Christians argued that allowing same-sex couples to marry is not inconsistent with traditional Christian teaching on  marriage . At the heart of these arguments is the assertion that same-sex relationships are, to borrow a phrase from gay writer Andrew Sullivan , “virtually normal.” That is, same-sex relationships are, with one very obvious exception, not all that different from traditional marriages. Thus, just as the Supreme Court held that similarly-situated couples should be treated equally under law, similarly-situated couples should be treated equally in our churches. The problem is that same-sex couples and opposite-sex couples are not nearly as alike as those making these arguments would have us believe. Facebook  launched a new "Celebrate Pride" tool which lets users blend their Facebook profile photo with the rainbow flag . The tool came out soon after the U.S. Supreme Court 's ruling on same-sex marriage was announced last Friday, and it has become a massive movement. Within hours of the tool's launch,  over a million people  had changed their profile photo. It now likely reaches into almost everyone's Friend list , including mine. I was startled at first when I logged into Facebook and saw that a few of my friends had giant rainbows painted across their faces in their profile pics. My first surprise was that some of these people were conservatives, whom I had believed supported the conjugal definition of marriage . I guess I learned something about my friends this weekend. Sodom , a hard-hitting, Russian-made documentary film claiming to expose a homosexual campaign to undermine Western morals, has been banned by Canada’s Border Services Agency. American anti-homosexuality crusader Peter LaBarbera has just been notified personally of the decision by the CBSA, formerly Canada Customs , because his copy of the 2014, hour-long film was seized as he crossed the border this spring. “It’s absurd for a democracy like Canada,” said LaBarbera, who is the founder and president of Americans for Truth About Homosexuality . “I don’t endorse everything in this film.
