A 14-year-old male eighth grader at Tavares Middle School in Lake County, Florida brought home a printed note last Friday, given to him by his teacher , encouraging him to participate in the “ Day of Silence .” GLSEN, which stands for the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network , designated Friday, April 27 as “a student-led national event where folks take a vow of silence to highlight the silencing and erasure of LGBTQ people at school.” Some of the GLSEN coercion includes allowing students “supportive” of “Day of Silence” to refrain from verbal participation in classroom instruction, while those who do not participate in “Day of Silence” must prepare to answer class questions. BOSTON, MA ,  – A pro-marriage group is reporting that Gay, Straight & Lesbian Education Network (GSLEN) Massachusetts has revealed a behind-the-scenes look at the homosexual agenda 's strategy about how to further promote its agenda in the state's public schools. In recent years, activists push­ing for a “ gay  rights” political agenda, such as the legaliza­tion of same-sex marriage and the overturning of the law against open homo­sexuality in the military, have become increasingly virulent in their attacks upon social con­servatives who oppose that agenda. Examples of these attacks include a federal judge declaring that the pas­sage of  California’s Proposition 8  in 2008 could only have been motivated by hostility toward gay and les­bian individuals ( 1) , and the 2010 announcement by the  Southern Poverty Law Center  that it classifies several pro-family organizations as “anti-gay hate groups .” 2 Such attacks reveal a fundamental misunderstanding (if not deliberate misrepresentation) of the beliefs, arguments, and motives of  social conservatives .
