California School District Will Not Allow Parents To Opt Children Out Of LGBTQ Content, Emails Show

Image
A California school district will not allow parents to opt their children out of classes involving LGBTQ content. A representative of the district said in an email this is because LGBTQ content is “fused throughout the entirety of the curriculum.” The Murrieta School District previously came under fire for a video depicting an ACLU staff member instructing teachers how to help students obtain abortions without parental consent. A California school district will not allow parents to opt their children out of classes containing LGBTQ content, figures or historical references, emails show. Murrieta School District says parents have the ability to opt their children out of comprehensive sexual health, but parents are still not able to opt their children out of LGBTQ content when taught in other subjects, according to emails obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation. The district recently came under fire after a video from the conservative group Our Watch exposed progressive

Polyamory is for Pre-Teens in Public Schools. Oh, Really?

Image
The world recently learned that the American Psychological Association promotes “polyamory,” “swinging,” and “relationship anarchy.” Their experts say it’s healthy and ethical. They’re crazy. Leftists who run our nation’s public schools love to hide behind the skirts of the APA when it comes to crazy Sex Ed. How long it would take for them to push polyamory on the pubertal?  They already do. Targeting California Kids It was a California teacher who discovered the “LGBT Consensual Non-Monogamy Task Force.” She was reviewing the state department of education’s “health” lesson mandates for the fall and stumbled across a term she didn’t know. She went to look it up and was led to the APA. California instructs teachers to talk to youngsters about sex “partners.” They are to avoid terms like “boyfriend” and “girlfriend” because “some students may be non-monogamous.”  This is in the lesson plan for 12-year olds. There it is. The APA reaching its crusty paw all the way down to

California mandates LGBT ‘sensitivity’ for teachers, even when they disagree

Apparently, it's not enough that schools are indoctrinating students — they want to brainwash teachers too! In California's public schools, where the districts have their hands full just raising test scores, it looks like the faculties will have to take time out from actual educating to master a new subject: LGBT sensitivity. Under a new bill just approved by the state assembly, every junior high and high school teacher would be ordered to undergo training on how to support kids who identify as LGBTQ. That includes everything from referring students to activist organizations to launching school-wide efforts aimed at encouraging confusion like transgenderism. The legislation,  AB 243 , passed unanimously — 61-0, with virtually every Republican refusing to vote. Our friends at California Family Council are horrified that anyone would force teachers to promote an agenda that the American College of Pediatricians calls " child abuse ."   "This mandated tra

The truth about so-called ‘conversion therapy’

Image
In light of the latest attack on sexual orientation change efforts (SOCE), namely, Amazon’s  banning of books  on the subject, we do well to separate fact from fiction.  Are these change efforts really so dangerous? Should they be banned and even criminalized? According to the critics, “conversion therapy” is dangerous and harmful because it tries to change something that cannot be changed, akin to trying to change a lefthanded person into a righthanded person.  As expressed in California’s  SB 1172 , which was signed into law in 2012 and criminalized SOCE for minors,  “Sexual orientation change efforts pose critical health risks to lesbian, gay, and bisexual people, including confusion, depression, guilt, helplessness, hopelessness, shame, social withdrawal, suicidality, substance abuse, stress, disappointment, self-blame, decreased self-esteem and authenticity to others, increased self-hatred, hostility and blame toward parents, feelings of anger and betrayal, loss of fr

Ex-gays and ex-trans rally against California’s LGBT therapy ban

Image
in an amazing show of force, 30 former gay and transgendered people took to a podium outside the California statehouse to oppose a proposed law banning therapy and printed resources helping those who seek freedom from LGBTQ+ identities and lifestyles.   The California Assembly Bill would essentially criminalize most if not all faith-based efforts to provide help to members of the LGBTQ community.   “California legislators have publicly claimed that change is impossible and those people simply don’t exist,” said a press release in advance of the event. “While the state celebrates those who embrace an LGBTQ+ identity, this bill will deny such choice and fluidity from anyone seeking to move in the opposite direction.” At the rally, one former gay pointed out, “In ‘LGBTQ+’ the Q stands for ‘questioning,’” pointing out the hypocrisy of a law that allows all persons to question whether they might be gay but forbids gays to question their sexual orientation. “Let’s not talk out

Football players defend high-school coach fired over ‘insensitive’ LGBT language

Members of a California high school football team are rallying to vouch for their former coach, who has been sacked for his coaching position after an outburst deemed “insensitive to the LGBTQ community.” San Luis Coastal Unified School District removed Morro Bay High School head varsity football coach David Kelley on Tuesday, The Tribune reports , following what Principal Kyle Pruitt called an “unfortunate, and unacceptable verbal interaction that was insensitive to the LGBTQ community between a coach/teacher and a student-athlete on our campus.” On October 24, Kelley got mad at a player who was procrastinating in a locker room and told him to “stop looking at me like a homosexual and get the [expletive] to practice,” according to senior varsity player Rocky Brebes. The student added it was the only instance he had ever witnessed Kelley using “homosexual” as a pejorative. Brebes also described a meeting with Kelley, Pruitt, and the team, in which Kelley claimed he was being replaced

California law forces Meals on Wheels to ask elderly recipients if they’re gay or trans

Image
Meals on Wheels programs around the world help feed elderly people and others physically incapable of obtaining or preparing their own meals, but California recipients have started receiving something less welcome with their service: grilling about their sexual attraction and “gender identity.” On Tuesday, the Sacramento Bee highlighted the experience of Carol Alexander, an 83-year-old recipient who was taken aback by a recent phone call from Sacramento County’s Meals on Wheels program, asking questions including “What is your sex,” “Do you still associate with your gender,” and “Are you heterosexual?” “I was in shock. I took offense to that,” said Alexander. “I’m ticked off. Why do they ask an 83-year-old this?” The questions were mandated by the state’s LGBT Disparities Reduction Act, signed by Democrat Gov. Jerry Brown, which took effect in July. The law requires meal-delivery services to present sexual and gender minorities (SGM) survey questions to recipients, in order to conduc

Interview with Nancy Pearcey: Many Battles Ahead Over LGBT Issues

Image
Author Nancy Pearcey says Americans “dodged a bullet” when a recent state law banning free speech failed. She reveals why people should think deeper about sexuality and identity issues. Last month, California LGBT activists were enraged by a decision from a member of the California Assembly who is also chairman of their legislative LGBT caucus. Assemblyman Evan Low (D-Campbell)  pulled  controversial bill AB 2943 from consideration, only six months after he introduced it. AB 2943 would have made it illegal for people of any age to receive professional help for unwanted same-sex attractions if the counseling discussed the possibility of change. One media report  stated  that Low “pulled defeat from the jaws of victory” when he abruptly tabled his proposed law. The measure had passed the California Assembly and Senate, which have strong Democratic majorities. For author Nancy Pearcey, the contentious drama over free speech and sexuality illustrates why people of faith particula
