American Academy of Pediatrics’ new guidelines support gender change for kids - dangerous ideology not even science The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) is urging parents to accept the preferred gender identity of their children without regard for the children’s actual biological sex. The progressive-leaning group published a policy statement Monday calling for “comprehensive” and “gender-affirming” health care for minors who do not identify with their birth sex. This includes “surgical intervention” and puberty-blocking hormones – both of which are controversial for being insufficiently proven and ultimately unhelpful to those suffering from gender confusion. Brad "Ria" Cooper, who was the UK's youngest "sex change" patient at 15, announced he is undergoing his third "sex change" operation, this time to make himself more like a woman again. This behaviour is still seen by experts as a mental health issue.  Shortly after his 18th birthday, Cooper "transitioned" back to his biological gender and lived as a "gay man." Andrew Barr 's impassioned defence of the so-called Safe Schools program in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday did not go into the concerns many parents have with their kids being inducted into contested gender theory . No one, especially people of faith, want to see children bullied at school for any reason. Full stop. But missing from the Chief Minister's defence was a rationale as to why an anti-bullying program urges schools to change their policies so boys identifying as girls should be allowed in the girls toilets and to share school camp accommodation. It is not clear why school teachers should cease using gender specific terms such as "boys and girls" when referring to children. No one has explained why four year olds should be encouraged to read the Safe Schools resource book Gender Fairy which tells them no one can tell you what gender you are. Studies that have been done of transgendered people who have had sex reassignment surgery , people who have been followed for 20 or so years have found that after 10 years from the surgery, that their suicide mortality rate was actually 20 times higher than the non-transgendered population. When a 9-year-old boy who identifies as Stormi, a transgender girl, started selling Girl Scout cookies , one neighbor was not amused, according to  Buzzfeed . The neighbor rebuffed him, reportedly saying, “Nobody wants to buy Girl Scout cookies from a boy in a dress.” The neighbor is being called transphobic—but perhaps the neighbor thought he was being pranked by a boy and reacted accordingly. Not everyone assumes that a boy in a dress selling Girl Scout cookies is transgender. People Can Be Genderphobic Stormi looked like a boy to the neighbor because he really is a boy. Transgender people may deceive themselves, but they do not deceive others.
