LGBT activism generally has two steps .  Step one has the activists angrily asking those who oppose their agenda how the proposed policy will impact their lives, with the emphatic assertion that it will not.  The second step has these same activists, once they have successfully achieved their goal and demonized their opponents, informing us all precisely how their agenda will impact our lives. They assured us that redefining marriage, for example, would have no impact on religious liberty. Kansas pro-family advocates are up in arms about a draft of guidelines that would require prospective foster parents to subscribe to LGBT orthodoxy in caring for children who may suffer from gender confusion. In July, the Kansas Department of Children and Families (DCF) released a set of draft guidelines backed by Democrat Gov. I’ve endured some painful physical events, not the least of which was giving birth. But some of the verbal attacks leveled against me have left emotional scars that still sting more than any physical scab. Words matter; words are powerful. Words can harm or heal. Who hasn’t been the victim of verbal assaults such as gossip or of outright invective? But one can also fall prey to a subtler form of verbal abuse: an inappropriate suggestion. A Pennsylvania school district is under fire for showing students pro-homosexual videos without parents’ consent and refusing to let parents see the videos for themselves afterwards. For the pro-LGBT National Day of Silence on April 27, the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) at Emmaus High School selected four videos that were played during morning announcements, the Morning Call  reported . Two of the titles included "9 Questions Gay People Have About Straight People" and "Show your pride. Share your love.” Those videos have since been identified. The BuzzFeed-produced “ 9 Questions ” video features LGBT speakers mocking the description of homosexuality as a “lifestyle” rather than “just my life,” claiming gay couples not reproducing is a non-issue because “technically the world is overpopulated,” mocking straight people for being offended by assumptions that they’re gay, denigrating heterosexual marriage for high divorce rates, and more. The Alberta NDP government made good its promise and introduced a bill November 2 that forbids schools telling parents their child has joined a “gay-straight alliance” without the child’s consent, regardless of the child’s age. Bill 24, or  An Act to Support Gay-straight Alliances , also nixes a previous exemption for private schools, which will now have to allow gay-straight alliances (GSAs) if a student requests one, although the bill has a mechanism for “exemptions.” Education Minister David Eggen issued a  ministerial order in March  to two private Christian schools demanding they establish a GSA if a student requests one. Under Bill 24, parental notification requirements and opt-out for courses with sexual or religious content will not be in force when it comes to participation in GSAs. A legal group is speaking out after learning that a school facilitated an 11-year-old girl’s “gender transition” behind her family’s back, and only informed them when she had become suicidal. The girl told her teachers at age 11 she wanted to be a boy but didn’t want her parents to know. She became suicidal after a year of living a double life as a boy at school and a girl at home. Only when she told her guidance counsellor she was depressed and wanted to kill herself did the school inform her parents, says lawyer John Carpay, director of the Calgary-based Justice Center for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF). The parents knew their daughter, who is moderately autistic, was struggling, but had no idea the school was facilitating her “transition” to a “boy,” Carpay said. They don’t believe in freedom of speech. This should be obvious to anyone who reads the news. When progressives are faced with speech they don’t like, they utilize every tool at their disposal to shut it down, up to and including violence — and usually  while simultaneously playing the victim card . Conservative speakers need bodyguards for protection. Pro-life displays are  frequently attacked and torn down .
