The BBC, the publicly funded British TV and radio institution, has aired a kiss between two teenage girls in a program aimed at young children. “The Next Step,” a Canadian-produced teen drama series following the stories of aspiring young dancers, featured a kiss between teen actresses Dani Verayo and Molly Sanders in a show aired last week. The show was broadcast via the CBBC brand, which the BBC says is for children ages six to 15 years old. An English High Court judge has told a Christian adoption and fostering agency that its stipulation that its foster carers refrain from the homosexual activity is “unlawful” but that it may still recruit solely from evangelical Christians.  Mr. Justice Julian Knowles handed down his decision concerning Sunderland’s Cornerstone Adoption and Fostering Service yesterday.   “The law requires Cornerstone to accept gay men and lesbian women as  potential foster carers,” Knowles said. He added that he “categorically” rejected “any suggestion that gay men and lesbians cannot make wonderfully loving foster and adoptive parents whether they are single or in same-sex partnerships.”   Knowles said Cornerstone “must change its recruitment policy” to allow homosexual carers to become “prospective foster parents and it cannot lawfully refuse to do so.” However, Cornerstone, the only evangelical Christian agency among the 306 independent fostering agencies in England, may still exclusively

A UK High Court judge ruled today that it was “unlawful” for police to investigate a man for writing tweets critical of men who say they’re ‘women’ and to record it as a “hate incident.” Mr. Justice Julian Knowles stated that for a member of Humberside Police to go to the workplace of Harry Miller and upbraid him for his political opinions was a “disproportionate interference" with Miller’s freedom of expression.  Last January,  Humberside police officers went to Miller’s business to investigate a third-party complaint that Miller had posted “transphobic” tweets. Miller had retweeted a poem that poked at transgenderism which allegedly included the lines, “Your breasts are made of silicone, your vagina goes nowhere.” Miller had also written in a tweet: “I was assigned mammal at birth, but my orientation is fish. Jewish leaders in the U.K. have stated that they will oppose educational authorities and not allow their schools to teach about homosexuals and other “lifestyles” that are “prohibited by the Torah.” Chinuch U.K., an organization that represents Britain’s main strictly Orthodox Jewish communities, has “issued a defiant challenge to the government by insisting their schools cannot discuss LGBT-related issues with pupils,” according to  The Jewish Chronicle . A major LGBT lobbying group has produced sweeping guidelines for British schools designed to indoctrinate children beginning at age 5 in every primary school subject area and in every grade level by embedding gay, lesbian, and transgender themes and examples. The “voluntary guidance” authored by  Stonewall , an LGBT lobbying group roughly equivalent to the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) in the United States, was sponsored by the  Government Equalities Office  (GEO) and  Pearson , a U.K.-based education assessment and publication powerhouse, using a £1-million grant awarded to LGBT organizations, according to a  report  in the  Sunday Times . The effort is timed to coincide with the new relationships and sex education (RSE) courses scheduled to take effect in September 2020. The Catholic Diocese of Salford in north-west England has become the latest of multiple Catholic dioceses around the United Kingdom to begin hosting “LGBT+ Masses.” In Salford, as in the other dioceses, the LGBT+ Masses enjoy the support of their respective local bishops. Advertisements for the Masses have become widely available in churches and on various official parish and diocesan websites. Many of these advertisements are emblazoned with the rainbow flag or popular Catholic images such as crosses or the Sacred Heart filled with rainbow colors. Several of the groups involved in organizing these Masses take part in their local homosexual “pride” events.
