In a brazen assault on our most fundamental freedoms, California legislators are considering a bill that would make it illegal for anyone to receive professional help to resolve unwanted same-sex attractions or gender confusion . This would apply to people of all ages. People of all religious and moral convictions. It is an absolute outrage, and it must be opposed vigorously. For the last few years, a growing number of states and cities have embraced legislation making it illegal for  minors  struggling with unwanted same-sex attractions or gender confusion to receive professional help, even with the full support of their parents. This would apply to a 14-year-old girl who was raped by her uncle at the age of 8 and now feels repulsion from men and attraction toward women. If her parents stood with her and she wanted to meet with a trained counselor to get to the root of her attractions, in some states, that would be illegal. An LGBT activist and comedian is promoting a nativity scene with two St. Josephs and no Virgin Mary. Some have dubbed this a “gaytivity scene.” “Our neighbors’ two Joseph nativity is up & I’m beaming,” Cameron Esposito   tweeted  along with a photo of the blasphemous display. One woman  responded by tweeting a photo  of her own “lesbian” nativity scene that uses two statues of Mary. The baby Jesus in that one is shown with a rainbow blanket. Rhode Island’s Bishop Thomas Tobin called the nativity set with two Josephs “sacrilege.” He posted on Facebook : Just came across this photo of a “gay nativity” scene — two Josephs dressed in pink watching over the Christ Child . How sad that someone believes it’s okay (or funny or cool) to impose their own agenda on the holy Birth of Jesus. LOS ANGELES, California ,— A high-profile gay YouTube personality who claimed he suffered a violent hate crime has been charged with felony vandalism and filing a false police report . He pleaded not guilty to both charges. In June, Calum McSwiggan   reported being assaulted   after leaving a West Hollywood nightclub. Police said they “were unable to substantiate the assault,” which McSwiggan says was a hate crime. The police subsequently arrested McSwiggan for allegedly vandalizing a car. The police say McSwiggan was not visibly injured at the time of his arrest and he harmed himself with a pay phone in a police holding cell . A Catholic university suspended an employee last month for telling students that there are only two genders.  The employee’s husband told LifeSiteNews that his wife was suspended for two weeks and faces ongoing hostility from Jesuit -run Loyola Marymount University for her Catholic beliefs.    LMU’s Bias Incident Response Team (BIRT) is working with the Los Angeles Police Department to investigate an alleged “hate crime” that occurred during the Jesuit university’s “Rainbow Week” last month,   The Los Angeles Loyolan   reported.  The “hate crime” that allegedly occurred consisted of an LMU Alumni Relations employee defending the Catholic Church ’s teaching on human sexuality to three student workers from the LGBT Student Services Office.  According to a press release from LMU’s Gender Sexuality Alliance, LGBT Student Services put up signs advertising Rainbow Week events and “depicting facts about LGBTQ + issues.”  Sometime between 9:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on April 14,
