LGBT activists sue Canadian pastor for preaching biblical sexuality

Image
‘Our services are our services,’ the pastor said in response. ‘You don’t go into a bake shop and ask them to fix your car. Then you can’t come into a Christian church and expect us to convey messages that we don’t agree with.’ Back in 2019, I noted that the LGBT movement would methodically begin going after clergy for sermons. Most sermons and homilies are posted online; with laws that increasingly expand the definition of hate speech and sustained campaigns to portray Christian organizations at hate groups, it was only a matter of time before activists set to work trawling the hours of content hunting for any expression of heresy against LGBT orthodoxy. Any expression of the biblical view of sexuality and gender makes clergy a target. The media is happy to help. In 2019, when a Catholic priest from Calgary was targeted for a homily in which he condemned the rainbow flag, the Toronto Star’s headline unabashedly sided with the activists: “Calgary priest under fire for homophobic rema

Some gays want out

Image
Australia - Queensland Labor Government wants to pass restrictive laws that stop gay from getting help. The same Laws are already in place in the U.S. and Europe targets ex-gay people. You want to get out - hard luck nobody will help you! Why Because it is illegal.  GAYS WANTS TO ESCAPE - QLD GOVERNMENT SAYS NO In 2018, Utah joined 18 other states in banning the therapy for children, while the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico have also banned the practice. In Europe, currently, the U.K., Malta, and some jurisdictions in Spain have banned the practice for children and adults. A rally was held in October by Pastor James Domen and other former homosexuals, who called on the U.S. Congress not to endorse the so-called “Equality Act” and “Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act” that would prevent others from seeking to escape LGBT lives. Domen, at the time, “We are being targeted by city, state and the federal governments here in the United States.” GAYS WANTS TO ESCAPE - QLD GOVER

Joshua Harris embraces gay sin

Image
Last week Joshua Harris announced that he is divorcing his wife, is no longer a Christian and has embraced LGBTQ+ views on sexuality and attended a pride event I don’t have a hot-take on this. Only grief. I am not surprised that apostasy exists in the world. Jesus warned us that it would happen (Matt. 13:20-22) and so did the apostles (Acts 20:30). And yet it is so painful and heartbreaking to witness. I resonate deeply with what Heath Lambert has written: The author of Hebrews warns, “Take care, brethren, that there not be in any of you an evil, unbelieving heart that falls away from the living God” (Heb 3:12).  Think about this verse, and consider that Joshua Harris—the man who summoned an entire generation to purity—has now left his wife, publicly rejected Christianity, and embraced the LGBTQ+ agenda. Let that sink in. Let that sink in, and be sobered. If this can happen to Joshua Harris, how much more do I need to heed the warning of Hebrews, and take care to avoid

Conservative Christians Just Retook the United Methodist Church from LGBT sin

Image
The mainline denomination voted on Tuesday to toughen its teachings against sinful homosexuality, fake gay marriage, and immoral LGBTQ clergy. It must now decide whether it will stay together. The United Methodist Church has fractured over the role of sinful LGBTQ people in the denomination. At a special conference in St. Louis this week, convened specifically to address divisions over LGBTQ issues, members voted to toughen prohibitions on same-sex marriage and LGBTQ clergy.  This proposal called the “One Church Plan,” was designed to keep the denomination together. Methodist delegates rejected its recommendations, instead choosing the so-called Traditional Plan, which affirmed the denomination’s teachings against homosexuality. Well done! This is a consequential vote for the future of the United Methodist Church: Many progressive churches will now almost certainly consider leaving the denomination. It’s also a reminder that many Christian denominations, including mainline groups

Victorian Premier Andrews wants to ban prayer for LGBT who want out!

Image
Let me be the first to engage in some bigoted quackery and talk conversion. That is to quote Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews, who has announced plans to ban so-called ‘LGBT conversion therapy.’ Speaking on Sunday at Melbourne’s Midsumma Pride March, Andrews vigorously criticized the idea that someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity can be changed, calling it “a most personal form of torture, a cruel practice that perpetuates the idea that LGBTI people are in some way broken.” “We will drag these practices out of the dark ages and into the brightest of lights.” Then he called it “bigoted quackery.” This is at first bewildering for the average Christian reader if only because few have ever heard of something called ‘LGBT conversion therapy.’ It’s a term invented by them, not us. So, we are left to ask what it means. Are they referring to something coercive? Involuntary? Abusive? Is this all about those bizarre and dark tales of electric shock therapy ( still used today by the m

The Nashville “Megachurch” that embraced gay marriage two years ago has cratered

Image
Two years ago TIME magazine highlighted an evangelical “megachurch” whose pastor had led the congregation to affirm gay marriage and to welcome LGBT persons as full members of the church (see the sermon announcement above from two years ago). The story made quite a splash at the time, even though many pointed out that the church wasn’t really a megachurch and could hardly be seen as a bellwether of things to come. Yesterday, the website “Juicy Ecumenism” reported that the church has cratered over the last two years. From the report : A once-large Nashville-area Evangelical congregation that made headlines after its pastor announced that the church would conduct same-sex marriages is selling its campus and relocating to rented space. After his announcement of LGBT support in 2015, Pastor Stan Mitchell of GracePointe Church in Franklin, Tennessee was profiled in Time magazine. But what was a much sought-after sign of Evangelical movement towards LGBT affirmation may have been wishfu

Dutch Pastors face possible criminal investigation for signing the Biblical Marriage Statement

Image
Last month, over 250 Dutch pastors and church leaders went public with their endorsement of the Nashville Statement. At least one member of the Dutch parliament also endorsed the statement. Even though they simply meant to reaffirm what Christianity has always taught for its entire 2,000-year history, the statement has been met with fierce opposition in the Netherlands. Over the last several days, the public outcry against these leaders for their Christian convictions has been ferocious. Politicians and celebrities have publicly denounced them. The Hague, which is recognized as the international center for law and justice, flew a rainbow flag in protest of the Nashville Statement. And now, the country’s public prosecution service is “examining the statement to see if there [is] any basis for a criminal investigation,” according to a Dutch news site . The news report cites Article 1 of the Dutch constitution as possible grounds for the investigation, which states that “discriminatio

Brazil’s new president declares ‘God above all,’ vows to fight gender ideology

Image
Brazil’s new president Jair Bolsonaro was sworn into office on the first of January, and wasted no time in expressing his intention to lead the country in accordance with “Judeo-Christian” principles and to defend the institution of the family against “destructive” gender ideology and “political correctness.” In his address to Brazil’s National Congress, Bolsonaro promised that “we are going to unite the people, value the family, respect religions and our Judeo-Christian tradition, combat gender ideology, conserving our values.” “Brazil will return to being a country free of the chains of ideology,” added Bolsonaro. “My electoral campaign listened to the call of the streets and forged a commitment to place Brazil first and God above all.” Promises to restore Brazil from collapse in moral values The country’s new president noted the catastrophic effects of the collapse of moral values that had occurred in recent decades in Brazil under socialist rule. Brazil has seen a massive surge

The Spiritual and Moral Bankruptcy of ‘Progressive’ Christianity

Image
Author: M. Brown . So-called “progressive” Christians love to bash conservative Christians. They call us dinosaurs. They mock us as outdated fundamentalists. They taunt us as “Bible bashers.” They claim to be the enlightened ones, and they celebrate their departure from the “traditional church.” But the reality is that they are simply following the spirit of the age, swimming with the current cultural tide rather than against it. In the name of conformity to Jesus, they are being conformed to the world. How ironic. On Saturday night, while working on a major book project at my computer, I noticed a tweet from a “progressive” pastor. I had reached out him to several times before, but always without response. He wrote , quite out of the blue,  “When hopelessly phobic people of faith like the @DrMichaelLBrown claim that God is against ‘homosexual practice.’ #ThatsNotAThing” As soon as I spotted the tweet, I replied ,  “Hey John, I’ve reached out to you on several occasions, a

Australian Government LGBT supporters want to close all faith schools who don't bow to LGBT ideology

Image
Australia: The national parliament was deadlocked yesterday on the issue of the age — how to protect religious freedom in schools and worship with the need to protect gay children from discrimination. The dispute here is about religious freedom in Australia — how much it should exist, how much it should be curtailed and how it should be protected in law. The Morrison government and the Shorten Labor Party cannot agree, pointing to a schism likely to run throughout the nation. The assurances from both sides of politics for more than a year that LGBTIQ rights would be reconciled with religious freedom have failed. This project has collapsed with serious implications. Labor Senate leader and lesbian -Penny Wong admitted defeat yesterday, saying efforts to remove discrimination against LGBTIQ kids “will be delayed until next year.” But no Christian school has dismissed any homosexual children. This ploy is being used as a method for LGBT zealots to control, manipulate even clos

Harvey Milk’s homosexuality had nothing to do with his murder

Image
This Tuesday marked the 40th anniversary of the murder of San Francisco Supervisor Harvey Milk, a Democrat who made history as the state’s first openly homosexual elected official and has since been elevated to a martyr, despite the details of his life and death differing greatly from the popular narrative. “On Nov. 27, 1978, Supervisor Milk and Mayor George Moscone were assassinated by Dan White, a former police officer and former city supervisor who had clashed with Milk over LGBTQ issues,” NPR’s Scott Schafer  wrote  this week, after stating that Milk’s advocacy for “gay rights” had “angered many.” Tim Fitzsimons of NBC News  reported  that when “Milk began to press for a city-wide ordinance to protect gay rights, his eventual killer and fellow city supervisor, Dan White, gave a quote to The New York Times, decrying the ‘demands’ of ‘large minorities.’”  Over the years, various left-wing activists have explicitly  claimed  that Milk was murdered specifically for being gay

Queering Azusa Pacific University

Image
A few days ago, I wrote a post titled  “Queering Azusa Pacific University,”  about the Los Angeles Evangelical Christian college changing its campus policy to be more LGBT-friendly. It was a strange move. The school now tolerates same-sex “romantic” relationships, even as it maintains — in theory — the idea that sex is only appropriate for married male-female couples. This is a feeble attempt by one of the country’s largest conservative Evangelical colleges to satisfy the Zeitgeist while maintaining the fiction that the school is still conservative and Evangelical on human sexuality. On September 24,  Barbara N. Harrington , who teaches writing in Azusa Pacific’s Honors College, sent a letter to the college’s Board of Trustees, alerting them to the radicalization underway at APU. I have seen the letter. A portion of it is below: Dear Members of the Board of Trustees – As we begin another school year, it is very appropriate to thank God for the gift that has been Azusa Pacifi
