British MPs want conservative to resign for ‘offensive’ views on homosexuality

Image
One of the most influential conservative philosophers in the Western World may soon be out of a job.  Sir Roger Scruton was tapped by the UK Housing Secretary on Saturday to chair a government  committee  whose purpose is to champion beautiful buildings. Almost immediately after news of Scruton’s appointment broke, several Labour MPs began calling for his removal from the non-salaried post, claiming he has a history of making “offensive” homophobic remarks. Scruton, who has taught at Princeton, Oxford and St. Andrews, among other places of higher learning, is 74 and has authored more than 30 books on topics ranging from art and architecture to literature and music. He received the Czech Republic’s Medal of Merit in 1998 for having fought against communism in Eastern Europe in the 1980s. In 2016, he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II for services to philosophy and education. Currently, he serves  as  a senior fellow at the D.C.-based Ethics and Public Policy Center. Shadow com

Lithuania rejects legalization of same-sex ‘marriage’

Image
The Lithuanian parliament (Seimas) rejected a proposal last week for legalization of same-sex partnerships put forth mostly by members of the liberal faction. Twenty-nine members of Seimas voted in support for the legalization of same-sex partnerships, 59 voted against, and 20 abstained from voting. During the first stage of legislation, abstaining is essentially equivalent to voting against the project because it must collect the majority of supporting votes. Nine conservatives and nine social democrats expressed support for the legalization of partnerships, as did eight liberals and three non-attached members. No member of the parliament from the factions of ruling Farmers and Greens Union, Order and Justice , and Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania supported the proposal for partnerships. The project for same-sex partnerships was not returned for revision and was rejected completely. Sixty-four members of Seimas voted against the project being returned for revision

Parent Politician Argument for Lesbian Marriage - faulty logic

Image
An Australian politician advocating for gay marriage -my response in red The Fact My Daughter Can't Marry Is Unacceptable In 2016.  There is much being said about marriage equality and the plebiscite from both sides of the House. It is my view that this issue is fundamentally one of human rights and equality. Every citizen on this Earth deserves to be treated with dignity and respect and to have his or her human rights recognised and valued regardless of their race, religion, sexuality or culture. Except the fact that homosexuality is not a human right .  But for me, this is a deeply felt and personal issue. My husband and I have three wonderful children. The eldest is a young man who has a nine-year-old son and a four-week-old daughter; he is engaged to be married. Our second child is a daughter who is married and has two beautiful children; a seven-year-old daughter and a four-year-old son. And our youngest daughter is engaged to her same sex partner but ca

Australia: Labor confused over homosexual marriage

Image
These social conservatives, mind you, have played a blinder. They have convinced the cabinet to approve a proposal utterly doomed from its inception. It has absolutely no chance of passing the Senate and that refusal could well pave the way for a delay of several years in any change to the laws on same-sex marriage . This would be a good thing in that the destruction that homosexual marriage brings with it will be clearly seen. The lies, manipulations, false argument, unhealthy destructive behaviour of some homosexuals. The abuse of anybody who stands against anything LGBTQ .  Bill Shorten and many others who support same-sex marriage seem terrified by the prospect of a real public debate on this issue. Australians can be trusted but many of our pollies can't be trusted to conduct a civil discussion on a contentious issue. We saw the confused illogical 'family argument' last week from Labor's deputy. It clearly shows no understanding of what homosexual mar
