Most teens who identify as “transgendered” do so after joining peer groups with other gender-confused teens and have been previously diagnosed with at least one mental disorder, according to a new study being derided by pro-LGBT activists. Authored by Brown University behavioral scientist Lisa Littman and published last month in the Public Library of Science’s journal PLOS One, the study reviews 90-question surveys completed by 256 parents of gender-confused children. Eighty-three percent of their children were biologically female, with a mean age of 16.4 and 41 percent having expressed homosexual attraction prior to “coming out” as a different gender. The study found that 87 percent of the teens belonged to a friend group characterized by some degree of “social influence” on the subject, such as one or multiple other teens in the group announcing their transgenderism “during a similar time as they did” and/or exhibiting increased social media or internet use. A British university ’s decision to abruptly cancel research into trans people who decide to revert to the sex they were born with has ignited a controversy over academic freedom and political correctness in the U.K.  Psychotherapist James Caspian found out about leftist intolerance the hard way when he proposed a research project on the topic of "detransitioning" to Bath Spa University , in southwest England .  Caspian wanted to study the growing number of people who  regret their "gender reassignment" procedures . The government of the Spanish province of Valencia has opened an investigation against the Cardinal Archbishop of Valencia, Antonio Cañizares Llovera, following numerous complaints over a sermon in which he denounced the influence of the “gay empire” on society. If prosecuted and convicted, Cañizares could receive up to four years in prison for “inciting hatred” against homosexuals under Spanish law. “The family is being stalked today, in our culture, by endlessly grave difficulties, while it suffers serious attacks, which are hidden from no one,” Cañizares told the faithful last month. “We have legislation contrary to the family, the acts of political and social forces, to which are added movements and acts by the gay empire, by ideologies such as radical feminism, or the most insidious of all, gender ideology,” said Cañizares. Image via Wikipedia There has been a consistent recent pattern of seemingly a majority of people who know right from wrong, especially religious leaders, deliberately avoiding confronting and acting on the truths about homosexuality and its dangers to homosexually active persons and to society.  This politically correct abdication of personal responsibility has facilitated and encouraged today’s increasingly totalitarian and hateful gay activism .  A loving, but firm and courageous public response is urgently needed.
