What does the Bible say about homosexuality?

Image
The  Bible  doesn't speak of homosexuality very often; but when it does, it condemns it as  sin .  Let's take a look. Leviticus 18:22 , "You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination." 1 Leviticus 20:13 , "If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltness is upon them." 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 , "Or do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God ? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God." Romans 1:26-28 , "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned

Preacher locked up for hate crime after quoting the Bible to gay teenager

Image
Christian evangelist was accused of a hate crime and locked up in a cell after preaching from the Bible to a gay teenager. Gordon Larmour, 42, was charged by police after telling the story of Adam and Eve to a 19-year-old who asked him about God ’s views on homosexuality . The street preacher referred to the Book of Genesis and stated that God created Adam and Eve to produce children. Within minutes he was frogmarched to a police van, accused of threatening or abusive behaviour 'aggravated by prejudice relating to sexual orientation' - despite not swearing or using any form of offensive language. The father-of-one spent a night in custody and faced a six-month ordeal before a sheriff cleared him of any blame. The incident, which occurred in his home town of Irvine in Ayrshire, has become a rallying point for Christian campaigners who are concerned that freedom of speech is being stifled by political correctness. Mr Larmour told the Scottish Mail on Sunday: “I can't

Peter Catt Anglican Priest Homosexual advocate or Apostate?

Image
“This is one of the issues (Christians against homosexual marriage) that causes me some distress,” Apostate Peter Catt says with the sigh of a person who is clearly frustrated and weary. “It seems to me that whenever the church falls into the trap of representing itself as the moral police for society, we sort of reduce the gospel to a whole bunch of rules and regulations, whereas I think the whole thing is about inclusion and love and justice and supporting people.” Catt a pastor for the Anglican church in Brisbane  (Australia) is frustrated with Christians who believe the Bible states that homosexuality is sinful, against God 's will. Catt wants to celebrate the sin of homosexuality. Christian believers are calling people to repent and turn from the sin of homosexuality. The Bible is very clear on the sin of homosexuality, but Catt wants to muddy the water with with false arguments. Catt has been pushing the sin of homosexuality in Australia for almost 30 years. If your company supports gay marriage & you don't - can you get sacked?

Maurice Blackburn Lawyers principal Josh Bornstein and Sydney Morning Herald journalist Deborah Snow expressed concern with the bully that was occurring in workplaces where people had different views on same-sex marriage . The issue of workplace bullying came to the surface when IBM managing partner, Mark Allaby was forced to step down from the board of the Lachlan Macquarie Institute after LGBT activists called for his resignation. Same-sex marriage activists then turned their attention on Macquarie University for employing Dr Stephen Chavura who is also a director of the Lachlan Macquarie Institute.

Jesus did not affirm a gay lifestyle

Image
It is one thing to not believe the Bible, and another to misreport what the Bible says; the Bible does not say that Jesus was fine with or indifferent on homosexuality . Jesus also doesn't talk about cars. Those who fought to make homosexual marriage legal rebutted the objection of conservative Christians by invoking the separation between church and state allegedly imposed by the First Amendment to the Constitution . But that is irrelevant to what the church believes and what the state believes and neither can interfere or the state cant start its own church. Irrelevant! Now that such rights have been secured, that separation is being blurred as many LGBTQ people seek to find affirmation inside the church as well as outside. But it is not there. They will find affirmation in liberal non Bible believing churches led by false prophets and false teachers according to 2 Peter. An example of a modern false prophet, such as Pastor John Pavlowvitz of North Raleigh Community Ch

Homosexuality - Dump Adam and Eve

Image
The Creation of Male and Female Justification of homosexuality from the Bible must take into account the record of Creation in Genesis 1–2. Such revisionist interpreters as Boswell have not overlooked this matter. They so interpret these passages that homosexuality escapes condemnation. The assumption that the record of Creation and the Old Testament emphasis on marriage show tacit rejection of one-gender sexual relationships is “insupportable in a modern context,” asserts Boswell. “It does not seem to have occurred to early Christians.” Indeed, “intense love relations between persons of the same gender figure prominently in the Old Testament.” Boswell cites Saul and David, David and Jonathan, Ruth and Naomi. Boswell does not argue that these relationships were sexual. He suggests as much, however, by observing that literature of the Middle Ages sometimes represented these relationships as erotic. He believes that Genesis employs symbols and myths “to explain all its fundamental tru

The Lesbians Daughter - Life as the offspring of a lesbian

English: Gender symbols, sexual orientation: heterosexuality, homosexuality, bisexuality. Česky: (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) I remember the night Ellen came out on her TV show in front of millions of people. My mom and her girlfriend were big Ellen fans and we watched the show religiously. After the episode went off that night I was left with the sensation of a bomb having just exploded before my eyes and waiting for the fallout. Strangely, it never came. At least, not that I was aware of. For me it seemed as though that was the beginning of this tidal wave that is currently descending upon society at the present moment. The onslaught of pushing homosexuality and alternative lifestyles into every nook and cranny is suffocating. I think that should speak volumes coming from a child raised by lesbians. From gay pride flags at military celebrations to smut mags at the grocery stores, homosexuality is being thrown up all over the place. While I agree that no one should be treated b

Romans 1:26-27 Homosexual argument: "What is natural to me"

Image
The starting point must be the possible meanings of physis in Romans 1:26–27. Greek Usage Physis occurs in profuse quantity throughout secular Greek writings, especially philosophy. We can study only a representative selection. The LSJ lexicon, including its supplement, cites eight broad categories of use for physis:22 1. origin, including birth and growth;23 2. natural form or constitution of a person, animal, or thing, including nature or character;24 3. regular order of nature; 4. philosophical order, referring to nature as an originating, creative power25 or “Nature” personified or as an elemental substance (as fire, water, air, earth26) or in the idea of the creation, nature; 5. concrete term, as in the case of “creature” or “humanity”; 6. kind, sort, or species; 7. gender distinction;27 and 8. legal distinction, a term roughly synonymous with “law” (nomos). There is no suggestion here that physis means “what is natural to me” or “orie

Should Christians attend homosexual weddings?

Image
Jesus is considered by scholars such as Weber to be an example of a charismatic religious leader. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Whether or not Christians should attend  homosexual  weddings is a sensitive topic. From what I see in Scripture, a Christian should not attend such a wedding since it would risk being a support and approval of something that is against God (Lev. 18:22; Rom. 1:26-27; 1 Cor. 6:9-10). As a Christian, and as an apologist, I must stand firm and represent God properly.  Sometimes, taking a stand means to reject ungodliness even if it means being ridiculed. Homosexuality is a  sin  and Christians are not supposed to support sinful behavior. But homosexuality is not just any sin. It is perhaps the only sin that when committed,  God  gives the person over to it.  Consider this:  "For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men aban
