47% of “mainline” pastors now support same-sex “marriage.” But only 8% of evangelical pastors do. More specifically, “Presbyterian or Reformed (49%), Methodist (47%), Lutheran (35%) and Christian/Church of Christ pastors (20%) are more likely to see nothing wrong with same-sex marriage than Baptist (3%) or Pentecostal pastors (1%).” This according to a new LifeWay Research survey. A former transgender patient has mounted an unprecedented legal challenge against a sex change clinic she claims is putting children on a "torturous”, “permanent” and “unnecessary path, High Court documents reveal.  The Tavistock and Portman NHS Trust, which runs the UK's only gender identity development service (GIDS) for children, is being sued over concerns that youngsters are being given "experimental treatment" without adequate assessments. The landmark case centers around a bid to stop the NHS prescribing "experimental" puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to children who wish to undergo gender reassignment. The case is being brought by the former patient alongside a woman known only as Mrs. A, the mother of a 15-year-old autistic girl who is currently on the waiting list for treatment at the service. She changed her name to Sean, and was given hormone treatments by the NHS, before eventually having a double mastectomy. ‘Why do I hate myself?’ Sinead said: “I was very aware that I wasn’t going to literally change my sex, but I thought if I could transform to such an extent that I passed and lived socially and legally as male it would solve all the problems I had”. “After the double mastectomy in 2017, there was a period of bliss, where I was like ‘I’ve finally done it. I set this goal for myself and I’ve achieved it’. “And when the novelty of that wore off I thought, ‘You know, why do I still hate myself? A Perth couple who believe homosexuality is a sin that can be overcome is locked in a court battle with a West Australian organization that denied their application to become foster parents. Byron and Keira Hordyk, who are devout Christians attached to the Free Reformed Church of Baldivis, claim Wanslea Family Services discriminated against them on the grounds of their religious conviction. Wanslea Family Services is discriminating against their religious beliefs. They acted illegally and discriminatory towards this couple.  An earlier attempt by the couple to have their claim heard by the Equal Opportunity Commission was knocked back after the Commissioner dismissed their complaint as "lacking in substance", but it was referred to the State Administrative Tribunal at the Hordyks' request. A Christian couple in Australia has launched legal action after they were banned from becoming foster carers due to their biblical views on LGBT issues. Byron and Keira Hordyk said they would love a child who identifies as LGBT as their own but would help them to overcome their sin. Despite an initially favorable report, their application was later refused on the grounds that their views would not ensure ‘a safe living environment’. Discrimination The Hordyks filed a discrimination case, saying that Wanslea Family Services would only appoint foster carers who agree with its LGBT ideology. The couple said their views are part of their Christian faith, which the organization did not attempt to reasonably accommodate. The Equality Opportunity Commission refused to hear their case, and it has now been referred to the State Administrative Tribunal. Church leaders in Scotland have written to Glasgow City Council calling for an immediate reversal of the decision to cancel the booking of Franklin Graham at the city's SEC arena. Despite contracts being signed, the Council urged the venue to reconsider, claiming the US evangelist's appearance would cause division. The opposition is linked to previous comments he had made about homosexuality.  The cancellation was one of eight arenas who told Graham that he was no longer welcome.  The evangelist subsequently launched legal action to get the decision overturned. US evangelist Franklin Graham has told Premier he won't let venue cancellations stop him preaching the good news to the UK this summer. The preacher, son of the late great Billy Graham, is due to visit eight cities across the country but has been dealt a number of blows as all eight venues have canceled, citing the division that his appearance would cause. The concern is linked to previous comments Graham has made about homosexuality. A number of LGBT groups have petitioned to encourage venues to cancel, while a number of bishops have opposed the visit. Unrepentant, the 67-year-old told Premier his views aren't different to most Christians. "I believe the Bible teaches that marriage is between a man and a woman," he said. "That's the Church of England's position. I think Her Majesty the Queen, that's her position and it's the position of the Church, pretty much worldwide. The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is looking at legal options for breach of contract after a series of venues canceled its bookings. Franklin Graham was due to preach at eight venues across Britain this summer, but all canceled his gospel events because of opposition to his views on homosexuality. In an interview with Premier Christian Radio, he apologized to those who felt offended by his views but clearly stated he still believes marriage is the union of one man and one woman. ‘We’re coming’ Graham said: “We’re coming. A University of Oxford professor has been assigned security guards for her lectures, following threats made against her by transgender activists.  Professor Selina Todd was accused of being ‘transphobic’ for challenging the narrative that transgenderism has been prevalent throughout history. She said: “You can’t help but worry. It’s had a huge impact on me. You don’t expect to be defending yourself the whole time from complaints or threats of violence”. Abuse Professor Todd was informed by two students of the online threats made against her, and the history department received “daily” complaints calling for her to be sacked. She was appreciative of her department’s support, but said “it would be far more helpful if the university could take robust action against the people making these threats in the first place”.
