Australia: Homosexual Marriage and the gay agenda in schools

Image
More Australian mums and dads need to  see this new ad  which reveals just how unsafe the so-called ‘Safe Schools’ program is for kids. While this ad has a MA15+ rating because of the content, this is the same material being taught to our 12-year-olds at school.  How is this “safe” for our kids to learn at school but rated too explicit to watch it at home? Let’s stand up for marriage, and for parents’ right to say “NO” to radical gay sex education in our schools. Please give today to get this message out   through TV ads and social media, and to equip your Coalition for Marriage Freedom Team volunteers.  You and I need to stay strong in this campaign to defend marriage and children … right to the finish!

Victoria the LGBT left state by Premier Andrews

Image
Religious liberty is all very well and all that, but it has its limits in Victoria’s state schools where principals are bound by Ministerial Direction 145. The determination allows faith-based religious instruction at the principal’s discretion providing no child attends for more than 30 minutes a week, and then only in the lunch break or in the hour before or after school. Parents must complete form CD145 — available in 15 languages — to give consent. Instructors must be referred to as instructors or special instructors, never as teachers. Teaching material cannot be described as “curriculum” and may only be referred to as “materials” or “program materials”. The Safe Schools program is different. There is no parental red tape to navigate since Safe School classes are compulsory and will be conducted in every state school by next year. In summary, parents must apply to have kids study the biblical canon, but they don’t get asked if they’d like their kids to study OMG I’m Queer, OMG

Indigenous Australians say NO to Gay Marriage

Image
But I want to suggest there is a slightly more pernicious at work, namely, an indirect suppression of the views of ethnic and cultural minorities. The real minorities in Australia — migrant communities, religious minorities, and indigenous Australians — are being subtlety treated as culturally “backward” and having their voices ignored by their supposed advocates in the public domain — the Left. Despite the media grandstanding of gay and transgender members of the indigenous community , scores of Aboriginal elders have spoken out against same-sex marriage, claiming it is fundamentally opposed to indigenous community praxis. Speaking to AAP recently, Peter Walker, an Aboriginal Elder from NSW, said that “the sacred and traditional union between man and woman is deeply part of our ancient and continuing culture across all of our communities”. In 2015, Walker and dozens of elders from the indigenous community presented a bark petition backed by more than 46 indigenous groups and clan

Ex-Green Candidate & Gay Activist to sue Coalition for Marriage for defamation

A Facebook image of Jill Moran, which she alleges was used by the Coalition for Marriage in a defamatory manner. Picture: Facebook A Canberra public servant and “yes” advocate is launching a defamation lawsuit against the Coalition for Marriage , after the “no” campaign group depicted her as an “extremist” on its website. Jill Moran 26, claims the use of her photograph marching at a “ Yes ” rally on its website coupled with the description “the extremists of the ‘yes’ campaign”, falsely portrays her as a bully, a violent protester and a political extremist . Ms Moran, 26, said she felt “sick to her stomach” when a friend bought the image to her attention. Jill Moran is suing the Coalition for Marriage for defamation for using her image in the media release . “I am a passionate supporter of marriage equality and I am proud to campaign publicly, but it is completely untrue and hurtful to paint me as violent or a political extremist.  I am embarrassed and angry to be associ

Inconsistent rules apply to traditional marriage Vote NO to SSM

A SIGN calling for people to tick No on their same sex marriage survey forms has been taken down within hours of being erected at the Hobart Showground . The Coalition for Marriage sign was put up yesterday but disappeared a few hours later. The Coalition for Marriage has expressed disappointment about the removal from the billboard. Coalition spokesman Alex Sidhu said the sign had been erected at 10am yesterday and was taken down at 3pm. It is one of about 10 “It’s OK to say ‘no’” billboards around Tasmania . “We do not want to comment on how or why the decision to take the sign down was made, we are just concentrating on getting our message out that there are consequences to a change to the definition of marriage,” Mr Sidhu said. It is understood the billboard is owned and operated by Claude Neon. Claude Neon has been contacted for comment. Liberal Senator  Eric Abetz said: “This is yet another ugly example the intimidation and bullying engaged in by the ‘yes’ campaign

Some in-depth reading on same-sex marriage issues

Image
An academic colleague suggested the other day that it would be good to post some recommendations for academic commentary on the same-sex marriage issues, for those who are interested in reading that goes a bit more in-depth than a standard blog post or opinion piece. I thought this was a great idea. I have compiled the following list of reading from recommendations of legal colleagues who, like me, have serious concerns about the proposal to introduce same-sex marriage. In that sense it is not a 'balanced' list. Those who want to find enthusiastic academic support for introducing the reform will not find it hard to do so elsewhere. But some of these pieces may not be so widely read, and deserve to be better known. Some are quite recent. Of course (pardon me for saying so) you will find other material on some of these issues here on this blog, and elsewhere. But these pieces are worth the extra time it will take to read them. (Unfortunately some are not freely availab

Christian leaders slam ‘appalling and unAustralian’ gay activists

Image
The nation’s most senior Christian leaders have described as “appalling” and “ unAustralian ” attacks from gay activists that have driven two Christian charities to request board secrecy. And the Sydney Anglican Archbishop Glenn Davies has slammed the multinational corporates who surrender to those attacks as “weak-kneed”. The Lachlan Macquarie Institute and the Australian Christian Lobby have been given permission by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission to keep their board members’ names private on the grounds of “public safety” after abuse and threats from gay activists. Both organisations applied to the commission last week after gay rights activists targeted marriage equality advocate IBM Australia for employing Mark Allaby, who was on the institute’s board. Archbishop Davies said it was an appalling indication of the state of national debate in Australia. “It’s a very sad day in an Australian society which honours free speech and freedom of religion

UK Prime Minister David Cameron wants to export immoral homosexual marriage ‘around the world’

Image
Prime Minister David Cameron has vowed to use his government’s new same-sex "marriage” law to spread the doctrine of homosexual “marriage” all over the world. At a reception at No. 10 Downing St. today for 150 leaders of the British homosexual lobby, Cameron said that together they had set “an example of how to pass good legislation in good time. Many other countries are going to want to copy this.” PM David Cameron meets with homosexual activists. “I’m going to export the bill team,” he joked. “I think they can be part of this global race and take [marriage redefinition] around the world.” Cameron told the assembled group he was “personally proud” to be “probably the only Conservative prime minister who’s taken this step.” He particularly noted the influence that the legislation will have as a teaching instrument for young people. “Young children growing up at school, who might be uncertain about their sexuality, knowing that now, in the highest place in the la

They are passionate, motivated and determined to fight on against a law that renders terms like husband and wife meaningless and threatens one of the foundations of the institution of marriage: fidelity and faithfulness.”  Throughout the process, opponents of the legislation sai
