YouTube CEO explains policy to punish, ban people even if they don’t break the rules

LGBTQ Privilege? YouTube CEO Susan Wojcicki said the company consults with the LBGTQ community to make sure they don't feel they are being censored. Wouldn't it be nice if conservatives had such a seemingly favored group? Wojcicki spoke to Eugene Lee Yang of "The Try Guys" on Dec. 16 regarding YouTube's harassment policy update and apparent efforts to appease the LGBTQ creator community's concerns. "Every single time we make a change," she emphasized, one of the factors measured is "the impact on a set of LGBTQ creator videos." She also described how YouTube proclaimed it will deplatform creators, even those who have technically followed the rules if they are perceived as repeatedly pushing the envelope of critiquing groups with a "protected status." "YouTube has been accused of suppressing queer voices," Yang commented before asking, "What is being actively done to protect content that has committed no other

Why These Women Walked Away From the LGBT Lifestyle

Image
Those struggling with same-sex attraction or hoping to walk away from a homosexual lifestyle may find some encouragement from Liz Flaherty and Elizabeth Woning, who both once lived a lesbian lifestyle. While leading their own organizations to help individuals transition out of homosexuality, Flaherty and Woning are also a part of a growing movement called Changed — a supportive and loving community of those who once identified as LGBTQ+. In today’s episode, we sit down with Flaherty and Woning to hear their stories and discuss some of the current legislation being advocated that could have detrimental effects on organizations that offer counseling services for those struggling with homosexuality. Read the lightly edited transcript, posted below, or listen on the podcast. Virginia Allen: I am joined by Liz Flaherty and Elizabeth Woning. Liz and Elizabeth both lead or co-lead Christian organizations that work with people who are seeking to walk away from the homosexual lifestyl

Ex-transgender starts ‘detransitioning’ advocacy group: ‘I felt I had to do something’

A young woman who has rejected her former transgender identity as a male has launched a group called “The Detransition Advocacy Network” in order to help the hundreds of young individuals she says have reached out to her after experiencing regret after undergoing hormonal treatments and surgical procedures.    “I'm in communication with 19 and 20-year-olds who have had full gender reassignment surgery who wish they hadn't, and their dysphoria hasn't been relieved, they don't feel better for it,” Charlie Evans told Sky News. “They don't know what their options are now.” Evans, age 28, who “detransitioned” after having identified as a male for 10 years, said she has been stunned by the sheer number of people who have reached out to her after she went public with her story last year.   While mainstream media frequently report stories about young people and even toddlers beginning a journey to medically “transition” to the opposite sex, the growing numbers of

Dems: Ben Carson is ‘transphobic’ for trying to keep men out of women’s shelters

A pair of Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives has introduced a resolution condemning what they say is the “transphobic history” of Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Dr. Ben Carson. Reps. Mike Quigley of Illinois and Katie Hill of California, the only self-declared “bisexual” in the U.S. House, acted in response to comments that Dr. Carson made to HUD employees in San Francisco expressing concern about “big, hairy men” pretending to be female in order to infiltrate women’s homeless shelters. The HUD Secretary also reportedly said that society could no longer differentiate between men and women. “I made reference to the fact that I had heard from many women’s groups about the difficulty they were having with women’s shelters because sometimes men would claim to be women, and that HUD’s policy required the shelter to accept — without question — the word of whoever came in,” Carson wrote in response to criticism of his comments. “This made many of the

Equality Act will force people into homosexuality, then destroy free speech

As a teenager, Nate Oyloe was attracted to other boys. Hoping to change his sexual attractions, he sought therapy. Today, he is happily married to a woman. Most people would be glad that Nate has achieved the life he wanted. But not everyone is. Lawmakers in his home state of Minnesota recently passed a law banning the kind of therapy Nate received to help him overcome his unwanted same-sex attraction. To date, twenty states and many cities have made it illegal to offer therapy for minors unless it affirms the LGBT agenda — and several more are considering similar bans. In these jurisdictions, therapists may help a child or teen accept same-sex attraction or different gender identity, but they will not help a teen who aspires to change his same-sex attraction or sexual identity. It is illegal even to ask questions to help a child explore underlying issues related to sexual orientation or gender identity. And if the federal Equality Act is enacted, it will be illegal across all

LGBT activists mad at demise of anti-‘conversion’ therapy group under Alberta’s new governing party

Image
Alberta’s newly minted United Conservative Party government is under fire from media and LGBT activists for the demise of an NDP ad hoc group tasked with advising the former health minister on banning so-called conversion therapy. Such therapy aims to help individuals overcome unwanted same-sex attraction or gender confusion, and though evidence exists it does much good, the nearly universally accepted view now advanced in Canada by media, LGBT activists, and healthcare professionals are that it is a harmful pseudo-science. It is sometimes called reparative therapy. Ontario, Manitoba, and Nova Scotia have all outlawed therapists helping people overcome such unwanted feelings, and B.C.’s Green Party leader Andrew Weaver introduced similar legislation on Monday. Weaver’s bill would ban therapy for unwanted gay attractions or gender confusion for individuals under age 19, and severely restrict its availability to adults, the Vancouver Sun reported. “It is particularly importan
