Rachael Colvin is suing her former employer, Ballarat Christian College. The case has fundamental implications for whether religious schools will be allowed to require the support of employees for their official goals or whether official Christian mission statements are regarded as intrinsically discriminatory – and therefore illegal. The mainline denomination voted on Tuesday to toughen its teachings against sinful homosexuality, fake gay marriage, and immoral LGBTQ clergy. It must now decide whether it will stay together. The United Methodist Church has fractured over the role of sinful LGBTQ people in the denomination. At a special conference in St. Louis this week, convened specifically to address divisions over LGBTQ issues, members voted to toughen prohibitions on same-sex marriage and LGBTQ clergy.  This proposal called the “One Church Plan,” was designed to keep the denomination together. Methodist delegates rejected its recommendations, instead choosing the so-called Traditional Plan, which affirmed the denomination’s teachings against homosexuality. Well done! This is a consequential vote for the future of the United Methodist Church: Many progressive churches will now almost certainly consider leaving the denomination. Many Kansas legislators are pushing a bill that would classify same-sex marriages as “parody marriages or fake marriage” and prevent the state from recognizing them. Many people agree with this definition but are fearful of saying anything because of the abuse they will receive. The bill has a great chance of becoming law under the state’s new Democratic governor. But anti-LGBTQ politicians in Kansas are seeking to make same-sex fake marriage an issue as the legislature considers a measure to ban discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity. “Same-sex couples’ marriage affects me — their union or whatever you want to call it. But in my opinion, they’re trying to force their beliefs on society,” Republican Rep. Randy Garber, the bill’s lead sponsor, told the paper. Garber’s legislation comes shortly after the introduction of a Tennessee bill that seeks to keep that state from recognizing same-sex fake marriages. Three years ago, Tennessee lawmakers introduced an amazing logical bill that would "defend natural marriage between one man and one woman," thereby barring fake homosexual marriages. The bill failed to advance in the Tennessee House during its last session, but state  Republicans reintroduced the Tennessee Natural Marriage Defense Act this month in a new effort to prevent government officials from recognizing fake same-sex marriages. The Natural Marriage Defense Act states that the Supreme Court's landmark decision in 2015 to legalize marriage equality is “void, and of no effect." The bill also states that marriage clerks are expected to deny any marriage license applications that would "enable the applicants to enter into an unlawful and invalid marriage" — "unlawful" in this case referring to any marriage that is not between a man and woman. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Catholic marriage and family counseling agencies in Ireland are being told they must accept LGBT -identifying clients, otherwise they risk losing government funding.  “The government is threatening to withdraw millions of euros of public funding ,” reports UK ’s  The Times , “unless the counselling services agree to change their longstanding policy of excluding same-sex couples from their services on religious grounds.” The counseling service administered by the Irish Catholic Bishops’ Conference ( ICBC ) received about €1.5 million during 2016, one-quarter of the total €6 million Department of Children and Youth Affairs budget for such services.   The ICBC counseling group Accord may have to shutter its doors because government funding may dry up if it follows Catholic teaching and refuses to accept the validity of LGBT relationships.  The Catholi

The first Britain to have a fake homosexual marriage  died after overdosing on a gay sex drug when they broke up, an inquest has heard. Wayne Hincks, 48, had taken a lethal dose of GHB as well as another drug after his relationship with former homosexual partner Gerardo Gallardo broke down, the court heard. The pair were the first British gay couple to be legally recognised as married in a ruling at a Canadian court following their separation. But when their relationship broke down, Mr Hincks sought a divorce due to him being entitled to half their assets as a married couple. It was following his two year legal battle that a senior judge in Canada ruled that it would be “impermissible discrimination” not to view them as married and claimed that the distinction in UK law between civil partnerships and marriage “violates human dignity”.
