Transgender politics have taken Americans by surprise, and caught some lawmakers off guard. Just a few short years ago, not many could have imagined a high-profile showdown over transgender men and women’s access to single-sex bathrooms in North Carolina . But transgender ideology is not just infecting our laws. It is intruding into the lives of the most innocent among us — children — and with the apparent growing support of the professional medical community. As explained in my 2016 peer reviewed article, “ Gender Dysphoria in Children and Suppression of Debate ,” professionals who dare to question the unscientific party line of supporting gender transition therapy will find themselves maligned and out of a job. A 13-year-old Alabama girl committed suicide just before the Memorial Day holiday weekend.   She was born Jane Marie Georgia. She died ‘Jay Griffin’ Georgia, a year after her parents opened the door for Jane Marie to start living as a boy.   Looking back, the grieving parents now wonder if perhaps supporting their child’s gender identity "transformation" actually added stress to her life rather than reducing it.    In an  interview  with AL.com, parents Matt and Erin said, “Jay was not ready to come out to the world in the sixth grade. Jay wasn't really ready at the end,'' she said. "It's a very personal process, but the schools have always been very attentive.” Erin, who continues to refer to daughter Jane Marie as ‘Jay,’ said the youth battled depression and anxiety. “We were under the care of a psychologist from day one.” Jay attended group therapy and in February started taking medication. Those who are setting our so-called “values”, such as the small but powerful group of academics, mainstream media, and homosexual activists, do so by attempting to impose strange myths and ideas that have no scientific basis. These myths include the one that homosexuals are “born that way”, can’t change, and must be accepted for “who they are”. Further, those claiming they are a different gender than that with which they were born, i.e. the transgendered, who “feel” they belong to other than their gender at birth, must be accepted as such. The public is supposed to put aside its intelligence and common sense, and respectfully bow collectively in obeisance to these “expert” opinions. A report released this week examining the research on sexuality and gender from the biological, psychological, and social sciences has come to the conclusion that parents and doctors who treat gender-nonconforming kids by transitioning them into their preferred sex might be doing the kids more harm than good. “[Children] are increasingly receiving therapies that affirm their felt genders, and even hormone treatments or surgical modifications at young ages. But the majority of children who identify as a gender that does not conform to their biological sex will no longer do so by the time they reach adulthood.
