Mainstream media gave credibility to Jussie Smollet’s hoax. It’s time to pull their plug

Image
When news broke that openly homosexual Empire star Jussie Smollett was attacked in the Democrat-owned and operated city of Chicago by two white men shouting pro-Trump slogans, I had my doubts. I always find it helpful in these situations to ask, “who benefits?” Turns out those instincts were right. Smollett’s tale has turned out to be an elaborate fabrication . "Fake news!" as President Trump likes to say. One has to wonder how many other stories the media feeds us that are pure fiction. When I first read the headlines, I had no clue who this fellow was. Probably because I don’t watch a lot of television (maybe a half-hour of Tucker Carlson once in a while). Most of my free time is spent eating with friends or at the nearby adoration chapel (there are no occasions of sin when you “watch” the Body of Christ). Regrettably, most Americans spend too many hours in front of their televisions, or, as a priest I know calls it, “the devil’s tabernacle.” Several years ago, I was teach

Gay journalist: LGBT media outlets use ‘fake news’ to advance movement

Image
Pro-LGBT media outlets and activists groups have been “emotionally manipulating and even entirely misleading LGBT people” with misleading or even entirely false reports of persecution by a "homophobic" government and culture, according to a recent column by Federalist contributor Chad Felix Greene. Greene, a self-described “conservative” who is himse, f homosexual, used his September 14 piece to highlight six stories that garnered significant traction in LGBT circles, but misrepresented their subject matter with unsupported claims, omitted details, and misplaced emphasis. His first example was legislation introduced in July by Rep. Jeff Duncan, R-SC, to forbid U.S. embassies from flying any flag other than the American flag, which outlets such as the Washington Blade characterized as specifically targeting rainbow “pride” banners. But as LifeSiteNews covered at the time , while some embassies promoting LGBT “pride” has been a source of controversy, the bill did not targe

Australia: Fake LGBT research used for homosexual marriage vote

Image
Claiming (falsely) that speaking against same-sex “marriage” and transgenderism kills people forces politically incorrect dissenters to remain silent. In 2015, “a major study published in Science, which purported to show that personal canvassing by  LGBT people  had an amazingly large effect on people’s opinions,”  reported   National Review ’s  Maggie Gallagher , it “was revealed to have been entirely faked, and in ways that one lone grad student, David Broockman, found easy to debunk. (The ‘scholar’ had even created easily checked fake grants from real foundations, thanking them publicly for grants they had never made.)” More recently, a study by a  Columbia University  researcher asserting that  minority stress is causing gays to die  a full 12 years earlier than straights has been debunked. The study’s authors said when it was released, “the results of this study suggest a broadening of the consequences of prejudice to include premature death.” The press loved the story

Poster Stunt shows homosexual marriage activists can't be trusted

Image
Last week, a same-sex marriage supporter claimed he’d found a single nasty “Stop the Fags” poster in an alley in Melbourne’s Chinatown. Activists and the media were ecstatic. Finally they could prove their opponents were just as nasty. But the frenzied untruths that followed — with photographic evidence even faked by Channel 10 — only confirm the gay-marriage lobby and their media mates are the real hatemongers. In fact, the only thing that could lose them the postal vote is their bullying — the lies, abuse, threats, violence and misuse of power that’s marked their “yes” campaign. I suspect the activists knew that already. That’s why they reacted so eagerly when supporter Dan Leach-McGill tweeted a picture of a poster he said had been put up in Heffernan Lane. This was a godsend for their cause. At last, these bullies could play the victim. The poster was indeed harsh, showing a sad child menaced by two adults holding rainbow-coloured belts. “Stop the Fags”, it shouted, repeating su

Same sex sin / marriage does NOT reduce teen suicide

A  recent study in the journal   JAMA Pediatrics   has caused a lot of buzz in the press. The study claims to trace the “Association Between State Same-Sex Marriage Policies and Adolescent Suicide Attempts” among LGBT youth and is being presented by the media as "proof" that gay marriage saves lives. But like much of the  fake news   coverage this study has generated, the study itself leads people to a   fake conclusion :  that somehow the enactment of same-sex marriage results in reduced teen suicide attempts, especially for LGBT teens. In fact, the study proves nothing of the sort. Indeed, some data in the report suggest the opposite may be true in states that have had experience with same-sex marriage the longest. The study begins with the presentation of its conclusions as if they were facts proven by the study. The report opens with a tidy summary and easy to swallow conclusion: Same-sex marriage enactment is associated with reduced teen- suicide attempts .

Homosexual Marriage reduces teen suicide - fake news

Rainbow flag. Symbol of gay pride. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) A recent study in the journal  JAMA Pediatrics  has caused a lot of buzz in the press. It's more  fake news . The study claims to trace the “Association Between State Same-Sex Marriage Policies and Adolescent Suicide Attempts” among LGBT youth and is predictably being presented by the media as "proof" that gay 'marriage' saves lives. But like much of the  fake news  coverage this study has generated, the study itself leads people to a  fake conclusion : that somehow the enactment of same-sex 'marriage' results in reduced teen suicide attempts , especially for LGBT teens. In fact, the study proves nothing of the sort. Indeed, some data in the report suggest the opposite may be true in states that have had experience with same-sex marriage the longest. Here are some very clear statements:  The report states conclusions as if they are proven facts, but they are not. The authors adm
