Stereotype of ‘bullied, at-risk’ homosexual youth queried

Image
An education researcher has queried the stereotype of the “ bullied ” or “at-risk” homosexual youth, suggesting it is a construction of scientific literature that may be counter-productive. University of New England academic Tiffany Jones appears to have broken ranks from many colleagues in the field by highlighting the deficiencies of some advocacy-driven research studies, particularly those presenting gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer ( GLBTIQ ) youth as victims of homophobic bullying. It is an extraordinary admission given Professor Jones’s role as a collaborator on a high-profile research project , the 2010 Writing Themselves In 3 study, which has propagated this view and formed the basis for education policy across the country, including the Safe Schools gender and sexual diversity program. In a paper published in the  Journal of Sex Education , Professor Jones argues that the “bullied GLBTIQ student” is a recent emergence constructed by resear

Don't believe Homosexual activist that the fight is over

English: David Cameron's picture on the 10 Downing Street website (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) "Why do you fight so hard?" a gay activist asked me. They expected us to fold up our tent and go home by now. But instead, thanks to your help, NOM is fighting hard for marriage in difficult territory: Illinois, Delaware , and Minnesota—where one very rich billionaire announced he's putting more money into a coalition to get Republicans to vote for gay marriage . ( Great Britain's Prime Minister David Cameron tried that; remaking the Tories the pro-gay marriage party. He's paying for it by losing local elections, even as I write this, with a  new poll showing gay marriage is a big part of the reason.) They certainly aren't giving up in France. Despite the government's best efforts to tamp down resistance, opposition to gay marriage keeps growing in an amazing grassroots, creative way. Here's the teaser video for the next big rally in Paris planned in

Children told to mimic lesbian & homosexuals in school

Image
Marriage (Photo credit: Lel4nd ) In 2011, before same-sex marriage was legalized in New York , promises were made that the bill would not impact anyone but same-sex couples who simply desired to be 'married.' We knew that was false then... and New York parents are beginning to learn the truth now. Christian News  is reporting that in Red Hook, New York , 13 and 14 year old girls were encouraged to mimic lesbian behavior and to "ask one another for a kiss" at a school " anti-bullying " presentation. Two girls were brought on stage and asked to act like lesbians out on a date. The boys were told to carry a condom with them at all times. Parents weren't given any notice of this school event. And, confronted by angry parents, "the principal and the district superintendant are defending the workshops, and are advising that they will schedule more." My friend, this is what's at stake:  our right to raise our children with our values

Delaware poised to pass gay civil unions

Image
Image via Wikipedia Lawmakers in Delaware are poised to pass legislation that would give homosexual couples a marriage -like legal status that has everything but the name “marriage” attached to it. On Wednesday the House Administration Committee approved SB 30, the homosexual civil unions bill, in a 4 – 1 vote. The House is expected to take up the legislation Thursday evening. The Senate already approved the bill last week in a 13-6 vote, and Democrat Gov. Jack Markell has signaled that he will sign the measure into law if it passes the full House. SB 30 is sponsored by state Sen. David Sokola (D-Newark North). House lawmakers will also discuss a variety of amendments when they take up the legislation, including an amendment that would allow unmarried heterosexuals to apply for civil union status, and another that would stress that a civil union is not the legal equivalent of a marriage.  House Minority Leader Rep. Greg Lavelle (R-Sharpley) says he believes the bill is a pr
