The incremental surrender of the Boy Scouts to the gender revolution has undermined the very reason for their existence. Earlier this month, the Boy Scouts of America , a venerated organization,  announced  that it will drop the "Boy" from " Boy Scout " and make scouting available to all sexes. This was not a surprise decision, nor did it come out of nowhere. For the past several years, the Boy Scouts have been in the process of  reinventing themselves  in the image of progressivism by pursuing a more "inclusive" approach to scouting. The umbrella organization plans to retain its original name, the "Boy Scouts of America" or "BSA," while officially opening scouting to both boys and girls. " Cub Scouts ," the name for clubs for kids seven to ten years old, is gender-neutral enough to be retained as well. LOUISVILLE, KY ,  -- The Archdiocese of Louisville has rejected a homosexual man ’s application to be a Boy Scout leader , the first reported diocese to do so after the national organization opted to allow gay leaders, resulting in threats of public protests. Greg Bourke reapplied to lead Boy Scout Troop 325 in his home parish of   Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Louisville where he’d been required to resign in 2012 after announcing his sexual orientation,   according   to Religion News Service , but was informed early this month his application was denied. “ My heart is broken that my church would now present the barrier to my returning to my Boy Scout unit,” Bourke said. The Boy Scouts of America took the final step Monday in lifting its ban on Scout leaders who openly profess homosexuality – but many gay activists decried the change for not going far enough. The BSA executive committee  passed a resolution  to lift the ban two weeks ago.  On Monday, July 27, the National Executive Board  ratified the decision , with 79% of the board's 80 members agreeing. The shift in policy incurred lukewarm approval from homosexual activists, with many expressing disapproval of the policy’s religious exemption clause. Gary Signorile, the editor-at-large for the  Huffington Post 's "Gay Voices" site,  blasted  the BSA's provision allowing individual chapters to cleave to their consciences on the matter of same-sex-attracted Scout leaders. A highly-decorated Navy chaplain may be kicked out of the military for his Christian views, the result of a possible scheme to weed out pro-marriage Christians.   Lt. Commander Wes Modder, was accused of failing “to show tolerance and respect” in private counseling sessions regarding issues pertaining to faith, marriage and sexuality, specifically homosexuality and pre-marital sex, according to Fox News . Military veteran and attorney Michael Berry said Modder, who is endorsed as a chaplain by the Assemblies of God, is being punished for his Christian faith . “We are starting to see cases where chaplains have targets on their backs,” said Berry. “They have to ask themselves, ‘Do I stay true to my faith or do I keep my job?’” Berry, who is with Liberty Institute, a  law firm that focuses  on  religious liberty cases , is representing Modder. We all have criteria by which we judge what is and is not acceptable. I discriminate against child molesters , and I will not let them be with my children unattended.
