U.S. CONFERENCE OF CATHOLIC BISHOPS BACKS RELIGIOUS FREEDOM BILL

Image
The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) has given its backing to a common sense bill that LGBT zealots warn could be used to stop immoral homosexual couples adopting kids and ultimately shaping those children into advocates for the sin of homosexuality. A group of 22 Republican senators, led by Mike Lee of Utah and including senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz , reintroduced the First Amendment Defense Act (FADA) in early March. The proposed law, which was first presented in 2015, protects individuals and institutions from punishment if they act on the belief that marriage should be between one man and one woman. On the campaign trail in 2016, Donald Trump stated that he would sign a version of the bill. The bill states that the Federal Government “shall not take any discriminatory action against a person, wholly or partially on the basis that such person speaks, or acts, in accordance with a sincerely held religious belief or moral conviction that marri

Republicans Urge Trump to Enact moral Executive Order

Image
House and Senate Republicans are calling on President Donald Trump to sign a “religious freedom” executive order . The proposed order, “Establishing a Government-Wide Initiative to Respect Religious Freedom ,” would bring back simple protection to those who hold the homosexuality is a grave and dangerous sin. According to a letter from Republican members of Congress , obtained by  USA Today , the order is crucial “to protect millions of Americans whose religious freedom has been attacked or threatened over the last eight years.”  The letter, signed by dozens of Republicans, concludes by again emphasizing the need for the order “so that critical religious liberty and conscience protections may finally be restored to millions of Americans who have been harmed and left unprotected for far too many years.”  At the time the draft order was leaked, White House officials reported to ABC News that the draft was one of many currently circulating the White House. White House pres

GOP braces for convention battle over gay ‘marriage’

Image
A little more than six months before the nation elects its president, the Republican Party still has no leader. The coming convention is proving to be one of the most up-in-the-air, contested political events in recent memory. But behind the scenes, a battle of much greater import for the future of our nation is brewing. A powerful group of well-financed Republican leaders are pushing for change in the GOP official national platform, to support homosexual "marriage." Politico reports   that some of the wealthiest Republican financiers have been bankrolling the American Unity Fund, which is fighting a well-organized lobbying effort to influence convention delegates who will draw up the platform. Billionaires Paul Singer , Dan Loeb, Seth Klarman and Cliff Asness back the American Unity Fund, with its “army of volunteers spread out across the country.” In January's Republican National Committee meeting, American Unity Fund staffers met with influential part

New York’s governor, leftist mayors target North Carolina over bathroom protections

Image
Three mayors, a governor, and several LGBT advocacy groups are targeting North Carolina 's new law protecting the privacy of the state's citizens. Last week, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) , the ACLU of North Carolina, Lambda Legal , and Equality North Carolina sued to overturn the law, which was signed by Governor Pat McCrory on Wednesday. The measure overturned a Charlotte ordinance requiring all businesses and public buildings to allow citizens identifying as transgender to use their preferred bathrooms, locker rooms, and similar facilities. “We’re challenging this extreme and discriminatory measure in order to ensure that everyone who lives in and visits North Carolina is protected under the law,” said Chris Brook, Legal Director of the ACLU of North Carolina, in a statement. “No legislature should be using its power to require cities, counties, or school districts to discriminate against anyone. This law is a targeted and unprecedented attack on the

‘It’s absurd’: Rand Paul blasts Kim Davis’ jailing over gay ‘marriage’

Image
Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis has been arrested and taken to jail for refusing to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples this afternoon. After repeatedly refusing to give such a license to gays and lesbians, a federal judge found her in contempt of court and sentenced her to jail time rather than assessing a fine.  As she was escorted out of the courtroom to jail, homosexuals began chanting, "Love won! Love won!"  As the scene played out, her U.S. senator, Republican presidential hopeful Rand Paul , said the decision was unwarranted, violated religious liberty, and would further polarize the country on the issue of same-sex "marriage." "I think it's absurd to put someone in jail for exercising their religious liberty," Sen. Paul, R- KY , told CNN. "If you want to convince people that same-sex 'marriage' is something that's acceptable I would say try to persuade people" instead of using state force. He also warned

Juno’ actress Ellen Page accosts Ted Cruz over LGBT rights. His response is a must-see (video)

Hollywood stars often confront conservative politicians for holding to traditional morality - but they seldom give those conservatives a chance to respond. On Friday, the actress Ellen Page questioned Senator and Republican presidential hopeful Ted Cruz about his policies for " LGBT people being fired for just strictly being gay or trans[gender]." "We're seeing Bible-believing Christians being persecuted for living according to their faith,"Cruz replied, citing the case of Dick and Betty Odgaard, the Iowa couple who lost their business for refusing to participate in a same-sex "wedding" ceremony. "We're a country that respects pluralism and diversity, and there is this liberal intolerance that says that anyone who follows a Biblical teaching...must be persecuted, must be fined, must be driven out of business." Page then cited homosexuals being jailed in the past in some states. Cruz responded that America is far from an

Supreme Court Judge prior to gay marriage decision - mind made up

English: Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Ruther Bader Ginsburg was wrong. Justice Ginsburg violated judicial ethics when she gave a media interview presaging her vote to redefine marriage (even before the case was briefed or argued) in which she outrageously predicted that the Supreme Court decision imposing same-sex 'marriage' would be readily accepted by the country. The evidence that the country is not embracing this ruling mounts every day. A nationwide survey of voters conducted by Reuters found that only 51% of Americans support same-sex 'marriage' following the Supreme Court ruling — a considerably smaller percentage than many national polls found prior to the ruling — and nearly two thirds of Republicans oppose the Supreme Court decision. Reuters noted that this will likely ensure that opposition to the Supreme Court ruling will be a pivotal issue in the selection of the Republic

Princeton rescinds employment offer to researcher who faked pro-homosexual study

photograph of the justices, cropped to show Justice Scalia (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Princeton University has retracted  its offer to hire Michael LaCour, the UCLA grad student behind a fake study purporting to show data favorable to homosexual activists. The study, conducted by LaCour and Columbia University professor Donald Green and published in the magazine Science last December, claimed that activists could swing people to support same-sex “marriage” in the span of 20 minutes by one personal conversation. Further, the study alleged, the results of these conversations would not only last for a year, but also spread to members of the converts' households. Green repudiated the study in late May of this year after other researchers failed to reproduce its conclusions. Science officially retracted the study on May 28. After the retraction, LaCour released a 23-page-long statement in which he apologized for "errors in design, implementation, and data collection"

Chris Christie: Clerks must perform same-sex ‘marriages’ regardless of their religious beliefs

Image
Governor of New Jersey at a town hall in Hillsborough, NJ 3/2/11 (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Chris Christie is not known for nuance. This time, he has turned his fiery personality loose on county clerks and other officials who have religious objections to performing same-sex “marriages.” In a tone usually reserved for busting teachers' unions, Christie told clerks who hold traditional values, “You took the job, and you took the oath.” He would offer no exemption for an individual whose conscience would not allow him to participate in a union the vast majority of the world's religions deem sinful. “When you go back and re-read the oath it doesn’t give you an out. You have to do it,” he said. He told a reporter that there “might” be “individual circumstances” that “merit some examination, but none that come immediately to mind for me.” “I think for folks who are in the government world, they kind of have to do their job, whether you agree with the law or you don’t,” the pugna

Ted Cruz slams courts for ‘ignoring the law’ by creating gay ‘marriage’

WASHINGTON, D.C. , March 18, 2015 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) -- U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz , R- TX , widely considered a potential contender for the 2016 GOP presidential nomination, told an Iowa radio host last week that the growing number of federal court rulings striking down state laws defining marriage as a union between one man and one woman represent “a real danger to our liberty.” Explaining his plan to introduce a constitutional amendment to elicitly reserve the power to define marriage to individual states, Cruz told WHO presenter Jan Mickelson, “We have seen judges, and especially the Supreme Court , ignoring the law.” “If the courts were following the Constitution , we shouldn’t need a new amendment,” said Cruz, “but they are, as you put it quite rightly, 'making it up' right now and it’s a real danger to our liberty." “If the citizens of the state of Iowa or the citizens of the state of Texas want to define marriage as the union of one man and one woman … the sta
