Anglican Church rejects 'prayers of blessing' for same-sex unions

Image
Rainbow flag. Symbol of gay sin JOHANNESBURG - The Anglican Church of Southern Africa has voted against the blessing of same-sex civil unions in South Africa . The vote was taken by the church's top legislative body, the Provincial Synod .  Same-sex marriages are allowed only under South African civil law. The initial motion before the Synod also proposed that bishops could provide for clergy who identify as LGBTI and are in legal same-sex civil unions, to be licensed to minister in parishes.  But the proposers withdrew this section before debate began. The church includes Anglicans in Angola, Lesotho , Mozambique, Namibia , South Africa, Swaziland and on the island of Saint Helena .

APA researcher: Gays aren’t ‘born that way’

Lady Gaga Born Gay - now no way! A top researcher with the American Psychological Association (APA) and lesbian activist has acknowledged that gays are not "born that way." Dr. Lisa Diamond , co-editor-in-chief of the APA Handbook of Sexuality and Psychology and one of the APA’s “most respected members," says sexual orientation is "fluid" and not unchangeable. As clinical psychologist Dr. Laura A. Haynes   summarizes   Diamond's APA Handbook chapters, her book and YouTube lectures, "The battle to disprove 'Born that way and can’t change’ is now over, and (Diamond) is telling LGBT activists to stop promoting the myth." Contrary to the typical argument that homosexuals are "born gay" as "who they are" and cannot change, the APA officially recognized sexual orientation change in 2011. Diamond summarized relevant findings in a lecture at Cornell University (2013), stating that abundant research has now es

Watoto Children's Choir bannded - because their church speaks the truth on homosexuality

MP Stuart Robert has called a powerful church leader one of the 'great influences' on his life and has allegedly used taxpayers money to visit the church. But the SMH has attempted to smear the MP, Watoto Church, their pastors and elders and choir as being bigots, haters and homophobic. What SMH doesn't accept is God's view on the sin of homosexuality, it's repercussions and its ultimate destiny. Mr Robert called Watoto Church leader Gary Skinner a huge influence in his life - and in his maiden parliamentary speech said the church was an axis for his moral compass. Watoto is a popular Church in Uganda followed by more than 24,000 people across 11 churches and helps children orphaned by war and AIDS. They also have an internationally popular children's choir that travels the globe, that visited Australia last week. A spokesman for Mr Robert said he was a former director of the Australian branch of Watato on an 'unpaid and voluntary basis' and

Pro-LGBT Catholic pastors met in Rome for pre-Synodal conference

Image
Around a hundred people gathered at the Pilgrim Centre “Santa Teresa Couderc” in Rome , for the international conference entitled Ways of Love: Snapshots of Catholic Encounters With LGBT People and Their Families, sponsored by the “Global Network of Rainbow Catholics”, a worldwide network of organisations that, in the name of “social justice”, demands inclusion and dignity for LGBT people and their families within the Catholic Church and society in general. The meeting was attended by Catholic pastoral leaders from around the world, who came together to share, through their stories, their pastoral approach and work in favour of LGBT people within their ecclesiastical communities. In addition to drawing up new action plans, a clear and stated objective of the initiative was to apply some pressure to the impending crucial Ordinary Synod of Bishops on the topic of the Family, which opened in Rome on Monday 5th October. Presenting the event, two of the conference spokespersons, Andre

Desmond Tutu would says he would rather go to hell than be with a homophobic God.

Desmond Tutu 2007 at the Deutscher Evangelischer Kirchentag in Cologne 2007 (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Desmond Tutu , a retired Anglican Bishop , who is supposed to adhere to the Bible and who fought against apartheid in South Africa , said on July 26, 2013... “I would not worship a God who is homophobic and that is how deeply I feel about this...I would refuse to go to a homophobic heaven. No, I would say sorry, I mean I would much rather go to the other place...I am as passionate about this campaign as I ever was about apartheid. For me, it is at the same level.” 1 God is homophobic?  Really?  God, the infinite power of the universe, is afraid of homosexuals ?  What planet does Desmond live on?  Apparently, the god he disagrees with is a wimpy, bigoted, little thing that is unfair and whiney.  No wonder Desmond, in his profound moral wisdom, doesn't want to hang around with him for eternity.  But, where exactly does Mr. Tutu find this weakened, fraidy-cat deity?  He c

Cory Bernardi tells Malcolm Turnbull: stop advocating homosexual marriage or quit

Image
Photograph of Malcolm Turnbull, New South Wales Liberal politician. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) The ABC online news is reporting that, Liberal Senator Cory Bernardi has called on former Liberal leader and current Communications Minister Malcolm Turnbull to stop publicly advocating gay marriage or quit the ministry. "If Malcolm Turnbull wants to talk about fringe issues outside party policy, he should resign from the frontbench," Senator Bernardi told the ABC. "Our longstanding party position is that marriage is between a man and a woman. Our frontbenchers need to reflect that in any comments they make. When you are a frontbencher there is no room for a personal view." Senator Bernardi correctly has identified that Turnbull is speaking publically contrary to party policy on homosexual marriage to either placate his Sydney pro- homosexual electorate or he is seeking to unseat the Prime Minister by causing a division in his own ranks.   Mr Turnbull lost the

Desmond Tut won't worship a homophopic God?

When Pope Francis declared last week, “who am I to judge?” in reference to gay people who “seek the Lord,” the media went haywire. Dr. Al Mohler, the president of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary has a helpful article telling everyone to calm down, as the Pope hardly said anything new. All Christians believe that sinners need to be treated with respect and compassion, as Jesus modeled and commanded. And when a person who is struggling with any sin, and is “seeking the Lord” he should not be judged or condemned, but rather helped and counseled. So, the Pope and I agree on something (I know, it’s a cold day here too). There is another prominent cleric, whom I seldom agree with on the issue of homosexuality, who made a cameo appearance in last week’s prurient media cycle. The colorful Anglican Archbishop Desmond Tutu has amassed an impressive treasury of struggle credentials (the Apartheid version of ‘street cred’). As a Black man staring down the barrel of White South Afric

Desmond Tutu and a homophobic heaven?

Image
Desmond Tutu 2007 at the Deutscher Evangelischer Kirchentag in Cologne 2007 (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) By the world's standards, Desmond Tutu , the retired archbishop of South Africa , is an intelligent and influential man. A social rights activist who became known worldwide in the 1980s as a staunch opponent of apartheid, Tutu has been a recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize , the Albert Schweitzer Prize for Humanitarianism , the Pacem in Terris Award , the Sydney Peace Prize , the Gandhi Peace Prize and the Presidential Medal for Freedom.1  Yet, in the eyes of the Lord God, Desmond Tutu is a fool ( Rom 1:22 ). He has ignored scripture completely, and affronted the holiness of God and the righteous of Christ. There can be no other conclusion based on his odd comments. Desmond Tutu says he would rather go to hell than to ‘homophobic heaven’

CAPE TOWN, South Africa , - Speaking at a press event in Cape Town during the launch of a UN campaign promoting homosexual "rights," retired Anglican archbishop Desmond Tutu said he would prefer to go to hell than to worship a "homophobic" God or go to "homophobic heaven." "I would refuse to go to a homophobic heaven. No, I would say sorry, I mean I would much rather go to the other place," Tutu said at the launch of the UN's "Free and Equal" campaign.  Archbishop Desmond Tutu "I would not worship a God who is homophobic and that is how deeply I feel about this, " he said.  Tutu was joined at the "Free and Equal" press event by UN Human Rights High Commissioner Navi Pillay and Justice Edwin Cameron of the South African Constitutional Court .  There they announced the launch of the year-long project, which the  UN's website  describes as a “global public education campaign to promote greater
