Anti-homosexual marriage was strong in extreme liberal states

Image
The results of the 2012 Election were extremely disappointing on many levels, not least because of the voter approval of same-sex marriage in Maine , Maryland and Washington, and the voter rejection of a proposed amendment to the Minnesota constitution defining marriage as the union of one man and one woman. Going into Election Day, the polls showed our side surging, and we hoped to pull out victories in all these states. Regrettably, this did not materialize. While each of these races were close, they all went against us. The election results naturally beg several questions that I would like to address: Is supporting true, natural marriage a winning issue? Do the results signal a change in the mood of the country on same-sex marriage? What is required to regain victory? Is Marriage a Winning Issue? The narrow losses that marriage endured occurred in deeply blue, very liberal states. Imagine if we had contested marriage in four deeply red, conservative states and

What happened to the Republican Senators who supported Homosexual Marriage in New York?

Sixteen months ago, when turncoat politicians pushed same-sex marriage through behind closed doors in the dark of night, NOM promised that we would not stop until marriage was restored in New York. And the first order of business was to hold accountable the seven turncoat senators who imposed same-sex marriage on the state. With your help, we have already come a long way! Four of the seven have already been defeated, and the remaining three are spending hundreds of thousands of dollars in a desperate attempt to save their careers. James Alesi .  Roy McDonald .  Carl Kruger .  Shirley Huntley . Mark Grisanti . Stephen Saland. Joseph Addabbo . James Alesi—despite earlier boasts—saw the handwriting on the wall and decided to retire rather than face voters. In May, NOM helped elect pro-marriage David Storobin to replace disgraced Senator Carl Kruger in a special election. Last month, for the first time in more than fifty years, a sitting Republican senator in New York w

Homosexual Senator calls people who support Biblical marriage "right wing nitwits"

Today is primary election day in New York State . It's a time of choosing. Gay marriage passed in New York State by the vote of four Republican senators: Sen. James Alesi , Sen. Roy McDonald , Sen. Stephen Saland , and Sen. Mark Grisanti . These four GOP senators who betrayed marriage believed the Human Rights Campaign sponsored lie: "no one has ever lost a seat voting for gay marriage." They counted on voters to have short memories for betrayal, to accept a done deal, to "move on." Sen. James Alesi was the first to discover that this is not true. He announced his retirement from the Senate . One down, three to go. It's very hard to beat incumbents in New York State politics. These four men who betrayed their voters on marriage were counting on that. They were counting on all the pro-gay marriage money they were promised to protect them for their failure to respect and protect their own constituents' values. They chose the money over the voters, and th

Bloomberg attempts to defend Gay bribe money

Mayor Bloomberg said today he "owes it to his children" to support elected officials who stand up and "do the right thing" --  even if their actions have repercussions at the voting booth. Bloomberg spoke to the press corps, including our Erin Einhorn, following the opening of a new East River esplanade at Wall Street -- and following reports that Hizzoner cut sizable checks  to the four GOP state senators who put same-sex marriage legislation over the top. The mayor declined to answer a question about any other candidates he may be supporting soon but did spell out his contribution philosophy. Here’s the exchange, per Einhorn: Q: I know you made some contributions to Republican senators who voted the way you wanted on gay marriage. Are there any other… A: They didn’t vote the way I wanted. They voted the right way. They voted the way for freedom, for democracy, for equality, and I think we should all support that. Q: Are there any other candidates – city or fed

State Senator Mark Grisanti was the first of the four to file his report last Wednesday, reporting a $10,300 contribution from Bloomberg.  The donation was dated July 8th – two weeks after the Senate voted to redefine marriage in New York state. The Democratic mayor has long been an active supporter of gay “marriage,” and plans to officiate at the “wedding” of chief policy advisor John Feinblatt and his male partner on July 24th, the day the new law goes into effect. According to a City Hall News  report , Bloomberg had promised before the Senate vote to financially support any Republican who voted in favor of gay “marriage.” The other three Republicans, Senators Roy McDonald, Stephen Saland , and James Alesi , all reporte

New York senator Alesi plays loose with the truth after voting for gay ‘marriage’

The event at which the senator spoke was sponsored by the Human Rights Campaign , and took place in Manhattan four days after the New York Senate voted to legalize same-sex “marriage.” After taking the microphone to loud applause and shouting, Alesi told the revelers, “that’s exactly what it sounded like when I went to Mass Sunday.” “I went to Mass Sunday in my church and I was so warmly received. It doesn’t matter what religion you are, but I know in my religion, when I went up to receive Communion , my priest embraced me,” he said. Unrepentant people taking communion according to scripture, bring condemnation from God. Alesi represents the 55th District of New York, which is in the Diocese of Rochester .

Traditional marriage supporters look to repeal New York gay ‘marriage’ law

Image via Wikipedia New York same-sex “marriage” advocates will soon face a backlash for forcing the new “marriage” law through the legislature, including a campaign to oust turncoat lawmakers and a ballot initiative to enshrine traditional marriage in the state constitution, the National Organization for Marriage (NOM) has said. The group has announced that the fight for true marriage is not over in the Empire State. “It’s high time for change in Albany,” said NOM President Brian Brown on the  group’s website  June 28. Brown said his group is organizing a four-year campaign strategy to combat the new law, which goes into effect July 24. Among top priorities is to put an amendment defining marriage as between a man and a woman in the state constitution before state voters, a step that requires the consent of two successive legislatures, but not the governor, according to Brown. A poll  commissioned by NOM and executed by QEV Analytics found that 59 percent of New York voters pr
