 In the latest of a series of moves to  promote the transgender political agenda  through the use of  executive powers , the Obama administration has said  that the federal Title IX civil rights provisions intended to stop discrimination against women programs apply to transgender people. Designed to prevent discrimination on the “basis of sex,”  Title IX funding  – formally known as Patsy T. Mink Equal Opportunity in Education – came into being in 1972. The funding has been used to prevent sexism in hiring, college athletics, and all other areas where sex discrimination could potentially occur. Transgender advocates proclaimed the administration's decision as a major move. Harper Jean Tobin, Policy Director for the National Center for Transgender Equality , said that the "announcement is a breakthrough for transgender students, who too often face hostility at school and refusal by school officials to accept them for who they truly are." WASHINGTON, D.C., September 10, 2013 ( LifeSiteNews ) – Homosexual activists celebrated a victory Monday after the nation’s largest labor union amended its constitution to affirm its commitment to organizing for so-called “transgender” workers. In an  amendment  titled “Welcoming All Workers to Our Movement,” the AFL-CIO added “gender identity” and “ gender expression ” to the organization’s constitutional objectives and principles. They now state that AFL-CIO’s mission is “To encourage all workers without regard to race, creed, color, sex, national origin, religion, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or gender expression to share equally in the full benefits of union organization.” The AFL-CIO’s move echoed those taken by a number of smaller unions which have already promised to advocate for the interests of transgendered workers.  Homosexual activists applaud the trend. Image via Wikipedia This past Friday, the Obama Administration became the first administration ever to host a meeting at the White House focusing exclusively on the discussion of federal policy related to “transgender” issues. According to a report in the Washington Blade , the meeting, which was hosted by the Office of Public Engagement (OPE), was attended by transgender activists and White House officials from the White House Domestic Policy Council , the Office of Cabinet Affairs, the Office of Public Engagement, and the counsel’s office, among others. The president himself was not in attendance, however. “While transgender issues have been covered in previous OPE meetings, and transgender leaders have been included in other OPE meetings, this would be the first time OPE has held a meeting solely focused on transgender issues,” Shin Inouye, a White House spokesperson, said.
