If you like Disney movies and Disney songs, chances are a gay man named Howard Ashman co-composed or wrote the lyrics to many of your favorites. “ Part of Your World ” and “ Poor Unfortunate Souls ” from The Little Mermaid — that’s Ashman. “ Beauty and the Beast ” — that’s Ashman too. “ Friend Like Me ” from Aladdin — yup, Ashman. Ashman, along with Disney composer Alan Menken , co-wrote all the songs for The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast, and wrote the lyrics for “Prince Ali,” “Arabian Nights,” and “Friend Like Me” for Aladdin. It’s important to highlight Ashman’s personal life in the face of this boycott of the new Beauty and the Beast. It takes a special cultural ignorance to protest the adaptation because it features a gay character, even though the original movie wouldn’t be what it is without Ashman’s talent. Disney 's homosexual live action Beauty and the Beast now comes with a formal warning from many churches church worldwide. Ahead of its screening, Bishop Rennis Ponniah of Singapore's St. Andrew's Cathedral published a statement to "alert" the congregation about the "homosexual content" in the film. To warn people of the subtle influence of the Hollywood LGBTQ agenda to indoctrinate kids with the sin of homosexuality. Beauty and the Beast's sidekick character LeFou, played by Josh Gad , will be openly gay . The fact the Disney is NOT denying the fact that they want to contaminate children's minds with the sin of homosexuality and sodomy is close to unbelievable. So Disney is going to have an “ exclusively gay moment ” in the live-action film version of   Beauty and the Beast.   It’s not going to be a big thing, just a moment in the action of LeFou the manservant. Something “nice.” Something very feelings-oriented. That news follows close upon Disney Studios’  first animated same-sex kiss . We’ve been talking about this behind the scenes here at  The Stream.  Al Perrotta, our managing editor, made this prediction by email: Let’s not kid ourselves. The reason you put in a lighthearted, perhaps even obvious, gay attraction theme in  Beauty and the Beast  is to soften the ground so a Disney princess or heroine can be gay. That’s the goal. They’ll get away with it here because it’s likely to be humorous, over-the-top fun, and done with much skill. (The  Modern Family  lesson well applied. And the film’s director Bill Condon is no slouch.) But I guarantee Disney is eyeballing a feature with a gay lead. He’s right.  Modern F
