Over the past two decades, it has slowly dawned on Christians that the implications of same-sex “marriage” are far greater for those who still believe in the traditional understanding of marriage than even the cynics first thought possible. The politicians, the academics, and the media have reached the collective conclusion that if gay “marriage” is a civil right, those who oppose it are not simply dissenters holding to a two-thousand-year-old tradition, but ugly bigots who deserve to be marginalized for their discriminatory views.  THOUGHT CRIMES Thus, “live and let live” turned into “you will be forced to participate and approve,” with bakers, florists, property owners, and adoption agencies finding themselves to be the targets of gay activists who show a shocking ruthlessness in their enthusiasm for prosecuting supposed thought crimes. A Brazilian federal prosecutor is demanding that a televangelist retract certain statements he made which the prosecutor says incited “hatred” against homosexuals - a thinly veiled threat of future legal action . “The people in the Gay Parade mock the symbols of the Catholic Church and no one says anything,” televangelist Silas Malafaia reportedly said. “The Catholic Church should take a stick to these guys, you know? They should lower the club on them.” Silas Malafia Malafaia has reportedly responded to criticisms that he was inciting violence against homosexuals by stating that by “take a stick” (“entrar de pau”) and “lower the club” (“baixar o porrete) he meant the Church should “formulate criticisms, take legal actions.” In his remarks Malafaia was referring to the desecration of sacred images that occur regularly in homosexual parades in Brazil. Dr. Mark Green, President Trump ’s choice for Secretary of the Army , withdrew his nomination today amid an escalating cascade of  LGBT and leftist attacks  portraying him as “hateful” based on distortions of his past statements. “It is with deep regret I am withdrawing my nomination to be the Secretary of the Army,”  Dr. Green  said in a statement, reported by  The Hill . He blamed “false and misleading attacks” against him and said he did not want to become a distraction. “I am honored that President Trump nominated me for this position. I appreciate his support and confidence in me, as well as that of [Defense] Secretary [James] Mattis and many others, and their desire to Make America Great Again by preparing our military to face the many challenges in the world for the safety and security of our nation,” said Dr. Green, according to The Hill. Ashers Bakery in Northern Ireland has been criticised and bullied by LGBTQ zealots again for refusing to make an engagement cake for a same-sex couple . The news comes just months after the bakery's evangelical Christian owners lost an appeal to overturn a conviction that found the firm guilty of discrimination , for refusing to bake an immoral homosexual marriage themed cake in 2014.  Joe Palmer, who is due to marry Andy Wong this summer, having intentionally targetted this cake shop - has said he is hurt by the bakery's refusal to bake an immoral homosexual for a second time. Poor Joe he is hurt. This is the sloppiest form of argument - I am hurt by you because you believe my homosexuality is a sin. How dare you! One of the biggest evangelical Christian college organizations in the country has recently told its staffers that they’ll be fired if they express support for same-sex marriage, divorce or premarital sex . Christians believe marriage is defined by God and recognized by government. But many today believe marriage is defined by government and must be recognized by all. For this reason, I’m not optimistic about the trends concerning marriage and family in the United States . Neither am I sure of what all this means for those who, in good conscience, stand against the tide. But I am optimistic about the church of Jesus Christ . We’ve been through societal transformations before, and we’re sure to go through them again. For example, the conversion of Constantine to Christianity in 313 A. D. was certainly good for the church.
