TEL AVIV, January 24, 2014 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - Canada's mainstream media have raised a hue and cry after Prime Minister Stephen Harper invited a well-known Christian pastor, who has boldly proclaimed Biblical imperatives against homosexuality, to be part of the large delegation accompanying him on his trip to Israel. Pastor Shawn Ketcheson of Trinity Bible Church of Ottawa was asked to be part of the 208-person Canadian delegation, made up of representatives from business organizations, religious groups, and civil society organizations, as well as the 31-person official delegation composed of the PM and his wife, and politicians, senators, advisers, and staff. Pastor Shawn Ketcheson With a broad spectrum of individuals representing diverse interests taking part in the visit, Harper's spokesman Jason MacDonald explained, "In a delegation of this size you will always find different views, including views you do not agree with.” "Members of the d

Amendment forcing Catholic schools to host GSA’s penned by homosexual activists

TORONTO, June 5, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - Following on the heels of the passage of the ‘anti-bullying’ gay rights Bill 13 today by the Ontario government, it has come to light that the amendment to the Bill that specifies that schools must allow a gay-straight alliances (GSA) if a student demands it was originally submitted as an amendment proposal by the homosexual activist group Queer Ontario. Matthew Wojciechowski of Campaign Life Coalition told LifeSiteNews that at the rally opposing Bill 13 held at Queens Park on May 31 he spoke with a homosexual activist who identified himself as Casey Oraa. “I asked who he was with,” Wojciechowski said, “and he replied, ‘I’m with Queer Ontario, we wrote the amendments for Bill 13’.” The group stated in a May 14, 2012 press release, “Queer Ontario submitted today a series of amendments to Bills 13 & 14 that would strengthen the language of the Bill … “Also included within the submitted amendments is language that exp

Some Catholic schools already ‘emboldened’ by Bill 13 to promote homosexuality: pro-family group

ONTARIO, May 31, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – An Ontario Catholic pro-family group is warning that while the Ontario government’s anti-bullying “Bill 13” is an unprecedented threat to religious freedom in the province, the effects of the bill are already showing themselves, with some schools and boards having already been “emboldened” to openly promote the homosexual agenda . “From the start, Campaign Life Catholics predicted Bill 13 would undermine biblical teaching on human sexuality. Now we have the proof,” said Suresh Dominic of Campaign Life Catholics. “It arrived early, even before passage of Bill 13, in the form of open rebellion against Christian teaching by the Waterloo Catholic School Board and the Peterborough Catholic board.” On May 1st the Waterloo Record reported how the vice principal and a teacher at St. Mary’s Catholic High School started an LGBT student club called PRISM (Pride and Respect for Individuals of a Sexual Minority). According to the Waterloo

Dalton McGuiny (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) KITCHENER, Ontario , April 16, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – The protest against the Ontario Liberal government’s controversial gay-focused anti-bullying legislation , Bill 13, is gathering momentum as a second rally is set to take place in Kitchener on Saturday April 28 at 10:00 a.m. The rally will be held at the constituency office of Kitchener-Centre Liberal MPP John Milloy , 6C-1770 King Street East, from 10:00 to 11:00 in the morning. It seeks to defend parental rights and religious freedom against what critics have called deeply flawed legislation. “This proposed legislation by Dalton McGuinty ’s Ontario government will subvert parental rights and freedom of religion. It will cause schools to teach children controversial sex ed theories that violate the religious and moral convictions of many parents about human sexuality,” said rally organizer Kim Galvao, head of Concerned Catholic Parents of Ontario (CCPO). Some 2,000 people attended a

Video: Ontario Bill 13 rally outrage over government imposing gay agenda in all schools

TORONTO, April 2, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - Last Thursday ’s high-charged rally against the Ontario government ’s Bill 13, imposing the province’s Equity and Inclusive Education Strategy (EIE) on all public and private schools, revealed many parents are dismayed over this attempt to remove parental rights. Video footage of the rally clearly reflects the intensity of the opposition to the bill from representatives of a wide variety of ethnic and faith communities.  See video   (see also  last Friday’s report ) Phil Lees , leader of the Family Coalition Party, received perhaps the strongest reaction from rally participants while describing (not in LSN video) the bill’s intent to deprive parents of even the right to be advised about what takes place in their children’s classrooms on matters related to Bill 13. Lees emphasized, the EIE document says, “No teacher, you’re not going to tell parents.”  Lees related a call received the previous week from a distraught parent. A mother sa

When Christians are bullied by the pro- homosexual government agenda

“We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we in agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves.” —Isaiah 28:15, KJV March 21, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - Recently, the  Toronto Star —that purported clarion of journalistic objectivity that is in reality little more than a running endorsement of secular humanist causes—focused on the alleged plight of a woman described as “a Catholic, a mom and a lesbian,” a combination of terms that would have been not only socially unacceptable in any previous age but both a biological and theological impossibility.  One may have been a lesbian but not in convergence with motherhood or faithful membership in the Roman Catholic Church . But that really was another age.  In this progressive era, this mother of two was shocked to discover  that, despite the dictates of the Royal Dalton government, St. Joseph’s Catholic Element

Evangelicals disappointed Toronto Catholic trustees didn’t stand up for faith

Evangelical leaders have expressed dismay after trustees at the Toronto Catholic District School Board rejected amendments to their equity policy designed to ensure faithfulness to Catholic teaching on homosexuality. Faye Sonier In a Tuesday  blog post  Faye Sonier, legal counsel for the Evangelical Fellowship of Canada , said the board’s equity policy, which comes as part of the Ontario government ’s mandatory equity and inclusive education strategy, is part of a widespread effort to promote a “new diversity” that can only operate by excluding contrary beliefs. The policy had sparked an unprecedented mobilization of parents over fears that it will give homosexual activists a foothold in order to further subvert already weak Catholic sexual teaching in the schools. The Toronto situation, she said, is “simply one of many cases across the country where the government or special interest groups, in aggressive pursuit of a troubling alteration to the concept of ‘diversity’, attempt to cr

Non-Christian Catholic introduces Gay Marriage to Catholic School

Image via Wikipedia To promote a controversial equity policy, the Toronto Catholic District School Board is bringing in a leading ‘equity’ trainer who advocates same-sex ‘marriage’ and surrogacy for homosexual families. The board, which last month voted down amendments to the policy designed to protect Catholic teaching, is hosting a morning symposium March 26th at Bishop Marrocco/Thomas Merton Catholic Secondary School to promote “equity and inclusivity” in the schools.  Trustees are expected to pass the policy, which comes as part of the Ontario government ’s mandatory and controversial equity and inclusive education strategy, sometime in April. The symposium is set to be led by Chris D’Souza, one of the government’s key “equity” trainers, who has made it a key point in his presentations to Catholics that “equity” involves accepting the homosexual lifestyle itself. Trustee John Del Grande, who had proposed the pro-family amendments to the board’s equity policy, said he was conce
