America’s most successful Christian food chain may be driven out of a children’s community event in Pittsburgh over the owners’ Christian-based view of marriage and homosexuality if the Pittsburgh City Council has its way. The Chick-fil-A Pittsburgh Kids Marathon is a one-mile run slated for May 2019. The event is for children and their families participating in the annual DICK’S Sporting Goods Pittsburgh Marathon. It’s affiliated with the Kids of STEEL physical activity and nutrition program. All nine members of the Pittsburgh City Council have a problem with Chick-fil-A’s sponsorship of the event, however, and have signed a letter pressuring marathon organizers to drop the company, The Blaze reports . “The leadership of Chick-Fil-A has openly and passionately promulgated hateful beliefs against the LGBTQIA+ community,” the letter reads . “Additionally, the company has financed organizations staunchly opposed to same-sex marriage and non-discrimination laws and other groups that eq

February 26, 2014 ( BreakPoint ) - Dr. Rosaria Butterfield has an amazing story to tell—and it’s her story. A former lesbian feminist professor, she started studying Christianity in order to debunk it—but ended up embracing it. Today, she’s a dedicated Christian apologist , wife, and mother, with two books about the faith to her credit. (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) PITTSBURGH, July 9, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - True marriage won a temporary reprieve in the US Presbyterian Church , as its general assembly  rejected  a proposal to redefine marriage as “a covenant between two people.” The decision, affirmed by 52% of the church’s General Assembly during an annual meeting in Pittsburgh on Friday, sustains the church’s existing definition of marriage as a “civil contract between a woman and a man” and its ban on performing same-sex weddings . In 2010, the Presbyterian Church  censured  the openly lesbian Rev. Jane Spahr of San Francisco for officiating sixteen same-sex weddings in violation of that ban. Clergy are, however, permitted to bless same-sex unions without calling them marriages . The assembly also voted to conduct a two-year study on the theology of marriage, and figures on both side
