‘Veggie Tales’ creator: I won’t show gay ‘wedding’ in kids shows, ‘not what…is best’ for them

The co-creator of “Veggie Tales” says that Christian filmmakers will need to start addressing LGBT issues in their work, but from a biblical perspective, since children are already being exposed to these narratives in secular programming. Phil Vischer said he won’t compromise if pressed. “If I get pressure from Hollywood to show two men getting 'married' because we’ve all decided it’s right and correct, my pushback is: ‘No, I won’t,” he stated. “Because that’s not what I believe is best for kids,’” “It’s more about what we show as normal rather than explicitly showing something and saying, ‘that’s wrong,’” he said. “I’m portraying the positive rather than the negative.” “At least for now,” said Vischer. “I do believe that at some point we’ll be forced to figure out how to explicitly address it.” Christian families don’t have the choice of whether to expose their children to LGBT issues, he said, with society having placed them on the par with civil rights.  “Pare

Alberta’s conservative party says leader has spiralled down on abortion, gay ‘marriage’

BELIEVE IN NOTHING PARTY Another formerly-staunch pro-life and pro-family politician in Canada is now reportedly saying he has "evolved" on the issues of abortion and homosexual ‘marriage.’ With his previous long-standing track record of voting pro-life — even being co-chair of the parliamentary pro-life caucus — and supporting traditional male/female marriage, United Conservative Party (UCP) Leader Jason Kenney drew the ire of a pro-LGBT lawyer on Twitter earlier this week. Kyle Morrow tweeted Nov. 12 : "Jason Kenney (@jkenney) wants to block gay adoption, defund abortion and invoke the notwithstanding clause [to stop homosexual ‘marriage’]." Attached to that tweet was an audio recording on an introduction Kenney had made of another politician whom he praised as someone "who fought with me to end taxpayer-funded abortions" and to "prevent gay adoption." That tweet generated 581 likes and was retweeted 615 times by Friday morning. The Star, a l

Ex-gay Christian singer tells ‘X-factor’ audience gay acts are a ‘sin’, Govt. gets involved

A Christian singer has received backlash from his country's government after declaring in his audition video for a famous television talent competition that he had been inspired by his Christian faith to give up homosexuality and that sexual acts outside of male/female marriage are a "sin." Matthew Grech, 29, a contestant in Malta’s first season of reality TV show “The X-Factor”, disclosed in an official video introducing himself to viewers that he had changed his life radically after finding God (video can be viewed here at top of page). “I was already a bit spiritual, but I was looking for the truth in my life,” he said. “I had a personal revelation of who Jesus Christ is, and I decided to follow Him, I gave all my life to Him. For many years, I focused on my faith. I set aside my ambitions and dreams and said to myself: “This Jesus is so real in my life, that it’s worth it to set everything aside to get to know Him well.” Grech’s next part of his monologue created

Judge rules Christian baker does not have to make gay ‘wedding’ cake

A California judge has issued his final judgment in favor of a Christian baker who refused to bake a cake for a same-sex “wedding,” ruling that cakes celebrating events are a form of speech. Last August, Mireya and Eileen Rodriguez-Del Rio sought a wedding cake from Tastries Bakery owner Cathy Miller, who declined on the grounds that affirming a homosexual union would violate her Christian beliefs , Bakersfield.com   reports . The couple filed a complaint with California’s Department of Fair Employment and Housing (DFEH), arguing that the state’s Unruh Civil Rights Act forbids businesses from refusing to provide services on the basis of sexual orientation (among other grounds). “Everyone is God’s creation and I love everyone,” Miller has   previously explained . “But there are certain things that violate my conscience, and my conscience will not allow me to participate in things that I feel are wrong. Most of what that’s based on is scripture.” The department subseq

U.S. judge rules it would be ‘tyranny’ to force Christian to bake cake for lesbian ‘marriage’

It would be a violation of free speech for a Christian baker to be forced to make a same-sex "wedding" cake, a California judge ruled on Monday.  Cathy Miller owns Tastries Bakery, where 40 percent of her business is wedding cakes, many of which she personally designs.  Last August two lesbians asked her to design a special cake to celebrate their “marriage,” and Miller politely redirected them to an accommodating competitor.   Nevertheless, as is the well-established LGBT pattern, the lesbians sued Miller anyway. They filed a complaint with the state Department of Fair Employment and Housing , accusing Miller of violating California’s Unruh Civil Rights Act , which criminalizes denying service based on sexual orientation.  Oral arguments were heard Friday. Judge Lampe said that to force a Christian to create a cake that celebrates something against their religion is "violence." “The State is not petitioning the court to order defendants to sell a

Court: Student can be expelled for calling gay ‘marriage’ a sin on Facebook

A Christian student who was expelled from university after posting on Facebook in support of Biblical teaching on marriage and sexual ethics has lost his case in a judicial review of the university’s decision. Felix Ngole was studying for an MA in Social Work at Sheffield University . In 2015 he made comments using his personal Facebook account on the story of the American registrar Kim Davis who was imprisoned after conscientiously refusing to register same-sex marriages . Felix expressed his Christian beliefs on the issue and argued that:  "same sex marriage is a sin whether we like it or not. It is God’s words and man’s sentiments would not change His words".  He was asked where in the Bible it says that same-sex marriage is wrong, and he quoted various passages to demonstrate this. Felix Ngole and wife Sipepelo Nearly two months later, Felix received an email from a university official informing him that his Facebook comments were being investigated. He was
