How homosexual advocates have reinterpreted the Bible

Image
In Deuteronomy , Kings, and Job, the Hebrew uses a form of qādēš (“cult prostitute”). The LXX uses a variety of words to translate this one term. Is this a reference to homosexual relations, as in the King James Bible and some other translations, which use the word sodomite? The Revisionist Answer There is no basis for reading homosexual connotations into the concept of “cult prostitute.” The word qādēš does not demand this, and historical records are silent. The word would more likely mean simply a female prostitute who serviced males. The LXX translates the references to “cult prostitute” in such passages by a variety of terms, showing that even these early Jewish scholars were confused as to the meaning of the Hebrew. None of the terms used suggests homosexuality. The LXX and English versions using sodomite are “mistranslations.” The Biblical Answer Context again informs the meaning of the Hebrew word. In Deuteronomy 23:17–18 the text refers explicitly to both female an

Immoral LGBT activists to set up ‘safe space’ at World Youth Day

LGBT activists in Poland will advocate their issues in a shadow outreach at this year’s World Youth Day. Heads of the Warsaw-based “Faith And Rainbow LGBT” group hope to reach thousands of gay, lesbian and transgender individuals at the Catholic Church’s triennial international event in Krakow, and to do so they have set up an “ LGBT Pilgrims Haven .” "We want to create a space in which they will feel safe and where they will find answers to issues facing them," said Misza Czerniak, one of the organizers. The “LGBT Pilgrims Haven” will take place in a cafe in Krakow's Kazimierz Jewish quarter. World Youth Day runs July 25-31 and is   expected to draw   about two million people to the city. This year’s theme is "Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy" from Matthew 5:7, the fifth of the eight Beatitudes imparted by Christ in the Sermon on the Mount. World Youth Day includes Masses, catechetical sessions, and youth festivals. Pope Fra

Australia: Activists spy on sermons from churches meeting in public schools

Churches that meet in public school halls in NSW on Sundays are under attack for the content of their sermons. The attack comes from a one-man advocacy group linked to the campaign against scripture in public schools. Sermons found on the websites of Hunter Bible Church, Maitland Evangelical Church and The Lakes Evangelical Church (all part of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches) on the NSW mid north coast were the subject of complaints by Dr Darrin Morgan, sent to the NSW Department of Education. All three churches meet in public high school halls. The Newcastle Herald and SBS report the content of some of the sermons, which relate to sexuality, including: “Homosexuality is one of the things that send people to hell.” “Anything outside of that, whether it is homosexuality, or adultery or pornography or sex before marriage; anything that doesn’t conform with what God created us into, is wrong.” “God’s good design for sex within marriage” is between “one man and a wom

Australia: Ex Union Leader Bill Shorten fails to justify homosexual marriage - faulty logic

Image
Bill Shorten has opened up on how being a stepfather shaped his support for same-sex marriage, saying it taught him no relationship deserves the "moral judgement" of others. Does that include incest and adultery, or polygamy? Mr Shorten a former union leader, has campaigned hard on homosexual marriage, warning the plebiscite promised by the Coalition could unleash "hatred and homophobia" and instead promising to introduce homosexual marriage laws to Parliament within 100 days if Labor wins the election without protection to clergy, pastors, Christian business people, ministries, Christian hospitals and all those who support traditional marriage.  Shorten groups all objections by those who support traditional marriage as people who hate. This is directly from the LGBT playbook. Call them bigots, backward, haters, from the 1950's, religious nuts.  Shorten says the "steep learning curve" of raising children helped him realize that "pe
