(Photo credit: Wikipedia ) Protesters gathered in front of the Great Auditorium in Ocean Grove, New Jerser last Friday to rally against actor Kirk Cameron 's presence at a Christian conference, claiming his expressed convictions on marriage are harmful to gays and lesbians. Reportedly 100 protesters, mainly part of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community ( LGBT ), marched silently in front of the Great Auditorium to protest Cameron's Christian views regarding homosexuality. The protesters, a part of the self-described civil rights group Ocean Grove United, marched with signs that read "Kirk! Your Words Hurt Us!" as roughly 6,000 couples showed up to hear Cameron speak on "Love Worth Fighting For," a presentation on Christian marriage . In

Random-probability samples in Los Angeles , Denver , Omaha , Louisville, and Washington, DC yielded 4,340 adults who answered an extensive questionnaire regarding sexual attitudes, activities, and experiences. Results indicate that perhaps 16% of both boys and girls claim sexual relations with an adult before the age of 16; if only experiences with men are counted about 5% of boys and 15% of girls claim sexual involvements. Hollywood piles on Kirk Cameron for gay comments; Roseanne calls ‘accomplice to murder’

Kirk Cameron (Image via RottenTomatoes.com) HOLLYWOOD, California , March 16, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - After actor Kirk Cameron refused to back down on statements criticizing the societal effects of homosexuality, a deluge of angry retorts poured in from others in the entertainment industry, with some calling Cameron “a complete tool,” a “douchebag,” and “an accomplice to murder,” among other slurs. Cameron, formerly the child star of the sitcom “ Growing Pains ,” was steered into a discussion on homosexuality by CNN ’s Piers Morgan during an interview on Cameron’s new movie “Monumental.” In response to a question about his beliefs, Cameron called the practice of homosexuality “unnatural.” “I think that it is detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization,” he said. In response to an initial blowback accusing him of “hatred,” Cameron  said in a statement  that that was “not true. I can assuredly say that it’s my life’s mission to love all pe

If you believe in marriage you will be guilty of hate speech even murder

Image
Kirk Cameron (Image via RottenTomatoes.com) Apparently believing that marriage is between a man and a woman, as millions like you and I do—and saying so publicly— is hate speech and equivalent to murder . This is what we are fighting against every day:  a vicious attempt to impose a radical social agenda while trying to silence anybody who disagrees. You see, recently, actor Kirk Cameron went on the Piers Morgan show to promote his new film,  Monumental . Cameron is a devout Christian and father of six (four of whom he adopted), who is not afraid to stand up for his beliefs—which he did when Piers (as he has been doing with so many social conservatives lately) turned the conversation quickly toward same-sex marriage. Cameron explained that he believed marriage "was defined by God a long time ago...one man, one woman for life, till death do us part." Well, as I'm sure you can guess, his answer and the subsequent discussion generated a swift and intense backlash. And

The growing divide in British Society over Homosexual Marriage

Image
Image via Wikipedia In the UK today we are increasingly struggling to understand  how to accommodate different views on religious beliefs, and sexual practices . There are two quite distinct fault lines that this difficulty shows itself most clearly. The first is over what beliefs should be allowed in a modern society , and  whether we should persecute, or in any way devalue someone who disagrees with us . The second is over how much we can allow people’s private beliefs to affect the wider society, and  whether one group’s beliefs can be allowed to trump another’s . This divide was seen this past couple of weeks in the launch of the “ Coalition for Marriage .” This campaign generated a number of high profile declarations of support from prominent Christian figures, and almost  120,000 people have so far signed the CFM petition , which  calls for marriage not to be redefined . A recent survey suggests that  70% of the general population  of the UK would like the current situation no

GLAAD to be totalitarian

Kirk Cameron (Image via RottenTomatoes.com) March 7, 2012 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) - Kirk Cameron is an evangelical Christian who has carved a niche for himself as an actor in faith-based productions like Fireproof .  These films are both entertaining and meaningful, with a rich spiritual and unapologetic Christian message that is, frankly, not only evanescent in Hollywood today but virtually extinct. This week on CNN ’s Piers Morgan Tonight Cameron dared to say that he thought homosexuality was “unnatural” and that marriage should be limited to the legal bond of a man and a woman, to the exclusion of all same-sex unions. “Marriage is almost as old as dirt, and it was defined in the garden between Adam and Eve. One man, one woman for life till death do you part. So I would never attempt to try to redefine marriage. And I don’t think anyone else should either,” Cameron said. The remarks engendered a swift counterattack by the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) , whic

Actor Kirk Cameron won’t back down, calls homosexuality ‘unnatural’ and destructive to civilization

Image
March 7, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) - Actor Kirk Cameron is holding his ground after an interview on CNN ’s Piers Morgan Tonight in which he squarely defended Christian belief regarding homosexual behavior. During the March 2 interview, Morgan asked Cameron if he regards homosexuality as a sin. Cameron answered that “it’s unnatural” and added that “I think that it is detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.” After Morgan claimed he would tell his homosexual child: “That’s great, son, as long as you’re happy,”  Kirk Cameron (Image via RottenTomatoes.com) Cameron replied: “I wouldn’t say ‘That’s great, son, as long as you’re happy.’ I’m going to say, There are all sorts of issues we need to wrestle through in our life. Just because you feel one way doesn’t mean we should act on everything we feel.” Although Morgan claims to be a Catholic, he is openly supportive of the homosexual political agenda, which is in opposition to Catholic doctrin
