Banning Conversion therapy reveals homosexual agenda

Image
Britain's biggest professional body for psychotherapists has told members it is unethical for them to attempt to ''convert'' gay people to being heterosexual , formalising a policy change long demanded by homosexual activists groups. The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy has written to its near-30,000 members about the new guidelines. The letter says the association ''opposes any psychological treatment such as 'reparative' or 'conversion' therapy which is based upon the assumption that homosexuality is a mental disorder , or based on the premise that the client/patient should change his/her sexuality''. It said it recognises the secular pro homosexual World Health Organisation policy which says such therapies may cause harm to health to those who demand their homsexuality be recognized and affirmed. The statement adhereing to the pro-homosexual postion ends: ''There is no scientific, rational or ethic

California bill targets consensual therapy for unwanted same-sex attraction

Seal of the Senate of California (Photo credit: Wikipedia ) A new bill that would hamstring therapy for unwanted homosexual attraction and label support for the effectiveness of such therapy “therapeutic deception” has passed its first hurdle in a California committee. While banning outright such therapy for minors regardless of consent, Senate Bill 1172, introduced by the openly homosexual Senator Ted Lieu and backed by Equality California, makes it an actionable offense for a mental health professional to conduct such therapy with a consensual client “by means of therapeutic deception.”  The offense can be brought to court by “a patient, former patient, or deceased former patient’s parent, child, or sibling,” with an eight-year statute of limitations for patients and five years for relatives. The bill  defines  “therapeutic deception” as “a representation by a psychotherapist that sexual orientation change efforts ... can or will reduce” homosexual conduct or desire. The bill

UK clients not allowed to ask for help leaving homosexuality: professional therapist guidelines

LONDON, April 19, 2012 (LifeSiteNews.com) – While most medical ethics throughout the western world has adopted the primacy of patient autonomy as its guiding principle, the psychiatric and psychological professions in the UK are becoming increasingly authoritarian in matters of sexuality, according to one would-be therapist. Recently published professional guidelines in the UK say it is an “ethical offense” to either offer to help a client overcome homosexual temptations and feelings, or to accede to a request to do so from a client. “I would agree that the focus is no longer on autonomy” in ethics in psychotherapy, said Dr. Michael Davidson, PhD , Director of the Core Issues Trust. In Britain’s main psychotherapeutic organisations, “the person-centred approach is not being respected,” he said. The Core Issues Trust is a Christian organisation that helps equip Christian ministers to help those with unwanted same-sex attraction and who want to leave the gay lifestyle. Dr. Davidso

Witness Christian therapist case threatened

Image
A Christian psychotherapist who was to appear before a professional conduct panel today has asked that the hearing be postponed while police investigate threats against a primary witness in the case. Lesley Pilkington, who counsels clients who want to leave the homosexual lifestyle, was due to appear before the review panel of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) after a complaint was made against her by a homosexual activist. Shortly before the hearing, the Christian Legal Centre reports, an expert witness who was to testify on Pilkington’s behalf received several “menacing” phone calls that included threats and intimidation telling him not to attend. The counselor has asked for an adjournment in the case and for police to be called in to fully investigate. Pilkington had been the object of a sting operation by undercover journalist Patrick Strudwick , who approached her to ask her for help with his sexuality. He had told Pilkington that he wanted

Christian therapist faces being barred after ‘sting’ by homosexualist journalist

In yet another instance of the growing conflict between believing Christian professionals and the homosexualist movement in Britain, a Christian psychotherapist who helps individuals overcome homosexual inclinations may be “struck off,” or barred from practicing her profession. Lesley Pilkington was the object of a sting operation by undercover journalist Patrick Strudwick , who approached her to ask her for help with his sexuality. He had told Pilkington that he wanted to leave the homosexual lifestyle and she informed him that she only worked within a Christian counseling framework. Strudwick, who went to two counseling sessions with Pilkington and published the transcript of the meetings in The Independent newspaper , was awarded journalist of the year by the homosexualist organization Stonewall for the sting. After the sessions, he lodged a complaint to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy alleging that Pilkington had failed to respect the “fixed nature”
