Ontario sex-ed: Classroom lessons are starting, and what we’re hearing is terrifying

Image
Last week we spoke to a mom who is on the parents council at her elementary school in the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). The mother shared with us that she had asked her Principal for advance notice of all Sex-ed lessons so she could choose whether or not to withdraw her child from class. The Principal stunned her with the following answer:  "We cannot give you advance notice because Sex-ed will be weaved throughout all subjects ". She is now in a battle with her school to have her parental rights respected. Lessons beginning now Now that we are into Spring, the controversial new curriculum will start to be taught at any time, and in some schools, has already started to roll out.  Therefore young children will soon be introduced to adult concepts of sex that are often dangerous to their health, both physically and spiritually. Even earlier than Grade 1 We spoke to another TDSB parent just today, whose five-year-old son was told by his teacher that

Toronto school official tells gay activists how they work around parents with traditional beliefs

Ontario teachers are encouraged to tell students that “it’s okay to be gay, it’s okay to be any identity you wish,” and in fact, should be “patted on the back” for “doing your job diligently” under the province’s Education Act, says Ken Jeffers of the Toronto District School Board . “You do not have to be cautious to talk about these issues,” Jeffers, coordinator of TDSB’s gender-based violence prevention office, told a group of educators at an April conference on implementing the Accepting Schools Act, organized by the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity (CCGSD). And parents need to know that requests to withdraw students from discussions on “gay and lesbian, bisexual, transgender, same sex-families” because of religious beliefs “cannot be honoured,” Jeffers said, because that “would violate human rights policies and procedures of the board.” Ontario’s Education Act now incorporates the Accepting Schools Act in its Section 169.1(a), which means all provin

Toronto schools claim parents have no right to pull kids from gay classes

The Toronto District School Board has confirmed it will not permit students to opt out of any portion of public school curricula that deals with homosexuality or gender identity , stating as its reason that these groups fall under Ontario Human Rights Code protection. In this, the TDSB follows the lead of the Peel school board , which announced a similar policy concurrent with the Liberal government’s September roll out of its controversial sex-ed curriculum in all Ontario ’s publicly funded schools. Spokesperson Ryan Bird said that while the TDSB has a “board-wide policy” for parents to “request a religious accommodation when it comes to the sex-ed curriculum,” the board “will not be making accommodations for people that are requesting to opt out of portions of the curriculum that have to do with sexual orientation or gender identity.” “When there’s a request not to learn about an identifiable group…whether it’s sex, gender, race, culture, religion, that’s something we wouldn’t

Gay activist: Of course our goal is to ‘indoctrinate children into LGBTQ agenda’

Image
A homosexual activist has candidly admitted that gay-themed materials and policies pushed in grade schools across North America are for the sake of “indoctrinating” children into an unquestioning acceptance of homosexuality. “I am here to tell you: All that time I said I wasn't indoctrinating anyone with my beliefs about gay and lesbian and bi and trans and queer people? That was a lie,” writes long-time Canadian gay activist S. Bear Bergman ,  a woman who identifies as a transgender man , in a piece appearing on Huffington Post a week ago tellingly titled ‘ I Have Come to Indoctrinate Your Children Into My LGBTQ Agenda (And I'm Not a Bit Sorry) .’ Bergman, who runs a Toronto-based publishing company making books for children that positively portrays “LGBTQ” people, is the transgender partner of J. Wallace, a gender equity adviser at the Toronto District School Board (TDSB). Bergman writes that as a young activist, she often entertained a “delicious fantasy” of wish

Project aiming to push ‘LGBTQ2S’ picture books into pre-K classes meets funding goal

Image
An  online fundraising project  to publish new LGBTQ2S picture books for children aged 4-8, with the hope of having the books picked up by schools, has recently met its fundraising target.  693 backers pledged a combined $56,793 to the project, called the “Flamingo Rampant Book Club.”  The fundraising goal was $49,000. The books will “celebrate a great and wide variety of LGBTQ2S kids, families, and communities,” according to the description of the project.  The books will also “celebrate gender-independent kids and adults.” The individual behind the project is S. Bear Bergman .  Given that his same-sex spouse, who goes by the name “j wallace,” is an employee of the Toronto District School Board (TDSB), and that these books are being marketed to teachers and school librarians, it is more than likely that these books will end up in elementary school classrooms across Toronto .  The fundraising webpage for the project brags about the positive press the project has gotten, and di

Public school board defends student’s ‘pink day’ poster championing polygamy

TORONTO, Ontario , April 30, 2014 ( LifeSiteNews.com ) – The Toronto District School Board (TDSB) is defending an allegedly student-created poster that appears to celebrate polygamy as part of the school’s “Pink Day” promoting diversity. Titled "King Eddie Pink Day 2014," the poster includes two sets of trademark circular symbols that indicate either male or female. Each set linked together has three symbols, one-male-with-two-females and one-female-with-two-males. “ Same Love ,” the poster, allegedly taped to the wall of King Edward Public School , states. The poster, created April 9,  appeared on Twitter  earlier this week and was highlighted on  Socialist Studies’ blog . It was re-tweeted by the TDSB. The tweet was “favorited” by the TDSB Continuing and International Education office, TDSB grade 3 teacher Sharon Moskovitz, teacher Vanessa Plourde, Liberal Party organizer Adam Exton, and left-leaning TDSB Ward 9 candidate Liz Jackson . The TDSB defended th
